Blue Onion allows you to view your deferred revenue (gross sales less discounts) and related fulfillment by month.

In this example, there were $30k of orders (gross sales less discounts) placed in September. Of the $30k orders:

  • $26.8k was fulfilled in September.

  • $800 was fulfilled in October.

  • $251 was canceled in September.

Each number on the page provides a click-through to order and line item detail so you can see the transaction-level detail comprising each summary number. We hear from customers that this page helps identify outstanding deferred revenue balances from prior periods that may need review.

Definitions

  • Order month: The month in which orders were originally placed.

  • Total Ordered: The value (gross sales less discounts) of the orders that were placed.

  • Fulfillment month: Displays that month's order value that was fulfilled.

  • Total fulfilled: Represents the total dollar amount that was fulfilled in that month.

  • Total cancelled: Represents the total dollar amount canceled. The cancellation amount is further broken out by the month in which the cancellation occurred in the bottom table.

  • Total remaining: Represents the dollar value of orders that were still unfulfilled and uncancelled as of the last day of the month of the period selected.
