Connecting with emerging talent—both apprentices and trade students—is one of the best ways to build a long-term talent pipeline. On BlueRecruit, finding these candidates is straightforward, and connecting with them is 100% free and unlimited for all users.
How to Search for Apprentices
To filter specifically for candidates looking for apprenticeship opportunities:
Select an Industry: Start a search and choose your primary industry.
Choose the Specialty: Under the specialty dropdown, select Apprenticeship.
Filter Skills & Certifications (Optional): Select any specific entry-level skills or certifications you would like candidates to hold. Note: You can skip this step if you prefer to view all available apprentices.
Define Work Parameters: Set your preferred Location, Pay Range, and Shift.
View Your Results: Browse through the matched apprentice profiles and send a connection request to anyone you are interested in speaking to.
Note for Free Plan Users: Connecting with apprentices is always free and does not count against your standard 3-connection limit.
How to Find Students
Student job seekers are integrated directly into your standard search workflows:
Run a Normal Search: Set up a search for any of your open positions using your standard criteria.
Identify Student Profiles: Look for candidate profiles marked with a small, blue graduation cap icon next to their Candidate ID.
Connect directly: Click to connect with student candidates instantly.
Note for Free Plan Users: Connecting with student candidates is unlimited and free across all account plans.
Important Requirement: Updating Connection Statuses
When you connect with a student or apprentice on BlueRecruit, we ask that you promptly update their connection status as they move through your interview and hiring pipeline (e.g., Text Messaged, Interviewing, Hired).
Why is this important?
Our partner trade and vocational schools rely on this placement data to track the success of their training programs. Accurately reporting these hires directly impacts their ability to maintain required accreditation and secure essential federal and state funding to continue training future trade professionals.
