How do I use an Availability Certificate?

Understand what to do with your availability certificate

Updated over 2 months ago

Our Availability Certificates are accessible in two forms: primarily, a PDF certificate you can download and send to stakeholders (such as your Local Planning Authority) digitally or by printing and posting. Secondly, every certificate has a scannable QR code that can be used to view a live, digital version of your Availability Certificate. This allows you or your stakeholders to independently confirm the authenticity of the certificate.

We recommend making reference to your Availability Certificate in your draft Biodiversity Gain Plan (BGP) and other associated documents. You can use your Availability Certificate to show what would have been achievable using off-site units, gather feedback, and validate that your stakeholders are happy in principle with an off-site solution.

Once you're confident about the acceptability of your biodiversity gain plans, and your development has reached a level of certainty you and your stakeholders are happy with, you can return to BNGx to find the best available bundle and purchase units.
