Introduction

A break is a block of time on your agenda where the meeting will adjourn / stop / pause or undertake an activity that is not formally part of the meeting. Examples might include:

  • lunch breaks

  • education sessions

  • attending an event

  • site tours

  • travel time

Worth knowing: Breaks presented as adjournments in exported shell minutes

Where your agenda includes a break, the shell minutes will include a notation that the meeting adjourned at the start time of the break and resumed at the end time of the break.

Key information about breaks

Breaks:

  • can be indented inside section

  • cannot have any agenda block indented inside them

  • have a name and a duration and may include details - but do not have any action, paper or participants associated with them

  • will always be shown as a standalone item on your exported agenda, irrespective of whether they are indented inside a section or not
