Mapping Master Controls

Written by Harper Tang

Linking entities to Master Controls, a process known as "mapping" in BoardX, is crucial for setting up an effective compliance management system. This process ensures responsibilities are assigned by linking specific organisational entities or groups to designated compliance goals. Once entities are connected, BoardX automatically generates related controls in draft mode, enabling necessary adjustments to tailor them to meet compliance requirements. Here are two different ways to map your Master Controls.

Bulk Mapping Master Controls (Recommended)

Linking Entities (Roles) or Entity Groups to Multiple Master Controls

  1. Navigate to the GRC List:

    • Go to the GRC List from the left-hand navigation bar on the main interface.

  2. Open Master Controls:

    • Click on 'Master Controls' to access the list.

  3. Filter Master Controls:

    • Use filters to narrow down the Master Controls based on your specific needs.

Note: If working within a single Authority Framework, directly access it from the Dashboard and click the 'Master Controls' tab within that framework.

  4. Select Master Controls

    • Check the checkboxes next to the unmapped Master Controls you wish to link.

  5. Initiate Linking:

    • Click 'Action' in the top right corner.

    • Select 'Link Entity and Entity Groups'.

  6. Choose Entity or Entity Group:

    • On the landing page, click the rectangle for either an entity or entity group. The selected option will be highlighted in orange.

  7. Confirm Selection:

    • Check the checkbox next to the Entity (Role) or Entity Group you want to link

  8. Finalize Linking:

    • Click 'Add' to establish the link.

  9. If an entity group is added, decide whether to generate controls only for the group owner by checking the appropriate checkbox.

Mapping Individual Master Control:
