If you're encountering an "Invalid PDF" error when trying to import a work order from IDS into Boatyard, don't worry—this is a common issue with an easy fix! Follow the steps below to successfully resave your PDF and complete your import.

Why Am I Getting an "Invalid PDF" Error?

When exporting a work order from IDS using the 'Print to PDF' option, the resulting file format may not be compatible with Boatyard’s PDF import feature. To fix this, you'll need to resave the PDF by emailing it to yourself from IDS, which ensures it's formatted correctly.

How to Resave Your PDF Correctly

Follow these simple steps to resave your work order PDF from IDS:

  1. Open the Work Order in IDS (G2)

    • Navigate to the specific work order you’re trying to import.

  2. Email the Work Order to Yourself

    • Click the 'Email Work Order/Estimate' button.

  3. Send the Email

    • In the 'To' field, enter your own email address.
      ⚠️ Important: Make sure you don’t accidentally send this to the customer!

    • Click 'Send Email' to send the work order to yourself.

  4. Save the PDF from Your Email

    • Open your email inbox and find the message from IDS.

    • Download and save the attached PDF to your computer.

Importing the Resaved PDF into Boatyard
