The placement test is automatic and will be delivered to students the first time they log in to Boddle. Students can access placement test questions in any of the game modes.

There are about 50 questions on the test, but Math Facts and Assignments will pause it until they are completed.

Boddle’s placement test helps you pinpoint where each student is academically so they can get the practice they need, right from the start.

How It Works

When students first log in to Boddle, the placement test is automatically delivered in-game. No setup needed on your end.

  • The test adjusts in real time to each student’s skill level.

  • Students will see an “I don’t know this yet” button while testing. This helps Boddle figure out what they’re ready to learn.

Where the Test Appears

The placement test shows up in all game modes, including:

  • Pet Battles

  • Quiz Mode

  • Arcade Games

Students won’t need to do anything special to start. It all happens as they play.

Important Tip: Assignments and Math Facts override the placement test, so we recommend letting students finish it before using those features.

Checking Progress

You can view each student’s placement test progress in the Progress Report:

  • “In Progress” means they’re still working on it.

  • A blue half circle means they’ve completed the test.

  • Once complete, you’ll see a score next to each student's name.

    • The number before the decimal shows the grade level.

    • The number after the decimal shows the percentage of skills mastered in that grade.
(For example, 3.45 = 45% of 3rd grade skills mastered.)

After the Test

Once students finish the test:

  • Boddle automatically delivers just-right questions based on their skill level.

  • You can also assign targeted content anytime—just head to the Assignments tab.

Restarting the Test

Want a student to retake the test?

  • Go to your Progress Report and click the blue half circle next to the student’s name.

  • This will restart the test at their current grade level.

  • If there’s no blue circle, the test is already in progress.
