Enabling Game Locks on Game Features

Game locks are used to temporarily block out certain parts of the game so students can focus on their work. They can be set to expire after a set number of correctly answered questions.

Let’s enable game locks, starting from your Teacher Dashboard. Click on the classroom you’d like to create a lock for. On the top of the page, click "Manage Game Locks." This will open the Game Locks page.

Adjusting Game Lock Parameters

First, use the checkboxes to decide which students to enable the game lock for. Press the blue “Next” button at the bottom of the pop-up.

Next, use the checkboxes to decide which features you would like to temporarily lock for those students. Press the blue “Next” button at the bottom of the pop-up.

Lastly, set the duration of your game locks. You can set classroom hours, which will automatically start the game locks during those hours. Game locks can be scheduled up to one week in advance.

When you're happy with your parameters, press the blue “Finish Editing” button to enable your game locks.

After Game locks are set, they will automatically apply when students sign in during the set classroom hours. Once they meet the required amount of correct questions, these temporarily locked features will unlock so students can enjoy all of Boddle's features.

Happy teaching!
