Teachers can host unlimited classroom races with a free Boddle account!

To begin a Boddle Racers session, click on the "Start Live Race" button on your Classroom Page.

Boddle Racers is an exciting feature designed exclusively for teacher accounts, adding an extra layer of fun and engagement to your math lessons. This interactive feature allows teachers to create live math races for their students, complete with customizable parameters, real-time tracking, and comprehensive reports. In this support article, we'll guide you through the steps to make the most out of Boddle Racers in your classroom.

Getting Started:

Teachers can host unlimited classroom races with a free Boddle account! To begin a Boddle Racers session, log in to your Boddle teacher account and navigate to the Boddle Racers section on your Classroom page. Click on the "Start Live Race" button to initiate the race setup process.

Customizing Parameters:

Boddle Racers offers teachers the flexibility to customize various parameters for each race, tailoring the experience to meet specific educational goals. You can set:

  • Race Time: Define the duration of the race to fit your lesson plan.

  • Classroom: Select the classroom or group of students you want to invite to the race.

  • Math Fact Problems: Choose the math fact problems you'd like to include in the race. Whether it's adaptive to each student or selecting specific operations -- addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division -- you have the power to focus on the specific skills you want to reinforce.

Inviting Students:

Once you've configured the race settings, a unique join code will be generated. Share this join code with your students, either verbally or by displaying it on the screen. Instruct your students to enter the join code on their Boddle student accounts to join the live race. Once all students are in the lobby, click on Start Race to begin.

Want to show students how to join the lobby? Check out this article with step-by-step instructions on how students join the lobby.

Start the Game:

As your students participate in the live race, you'll be able to track their progress in real-time. The interactive dashboard allows you to monitor each student's placement, ensuring you can offer immediate support to those who may need it. This real-time tracking feature adds an element of excitement and competition to the learning process, motivating students to do their best.

After the Race Ends:

After the race concludes, you will have two options:

  1. Race Again

    • Start another racing session

      • It will have the option to set new racing parameters

  2. View Reports - These reports include:

    • Roster view:

      • Get an overview of the class's average performance on the math facts covered in the race.

    • Individual Student view:

      • Click on a student's name in the roster to access detailed reports for each student, showing their answers to specific math problems during the race.

Note - Boddle Racers reports are not shown on the Reports page. These reports can be accessed at any time by clicking on 'View Reports' on the Boddle Racers tab on your Classroom page.

Happy Teaching!
