rePete integrates directly with Klaviyo in two ways. You can sync rePete events to Klaviyo to build smarter segments and avoid overlapping messages, and you can add a dynamic rePete content block to your existing Klaviyo email campaigns to surface reorder reminders to customers who are due.
Note: This article explains how the direct Klaviyo integration works. If you prefer to connect to Klaviyo using Shopify Flow, please visit Shopify Flow & rePete.
How it works
Sync rePete events to Klaviyo
When this option is enabled, rePete automatically sends nudge and order activity to Klaviyo as custom metrics. You can use these events to trigger flows, build segments, or exclude customers who have already received a rePete nudge from other campaigns.
rePete continues to send its own nudge messages when this setting is enabled. The events are intended to help you coordinate messaging across both platforms and avoid sending duplicate communications to the same customer.
rePete content block for Klaviyo
Once the integration is connected and event sync is enabled, you can also enable the rePete Universal Content Block. This lets you add a dynamic reorder section to any of your existing Klaviyo email campaigns. When the email is sent, the content block automatically populates with a reorder recommendation for recipients who are due to reorder within 7 days. If a customer is not due to reorder, the block does not display.
This is a way to extend rePete's reach through campaigns you are already sending, without creating additional sends or adding to your customers' inbox volume.
Available events
When event sync is enabled, the following events are sent to Klaviyo as custom metrics:
Event | Data included | When it's used |
rePete Nudge Sent | Time, customer, nudge type (email or SMS) | Sent when rePete sends a nudge. Use this for segmentation or to suppress customers from other campaigns. |
rePete Order Placed | Time, customer, products, order total | Sent when a customer places a rePete order. Use this to trigger post-purchase flows or update segments. |
Setup
Step 1: Create a Klaviyo API key
In your Klaviyo account, navigate to Account Settings and select API Keys.
Create a new private API key and give it a name.
Under custom access options, set Events to Full Access.
Save and copy the API key.
For help navigating Klaviyo account settings, refer to Klaviyo's API key documentation.
Step 2: Connect Klaviyo in rePete
In the rePete admin, navigate to the Integrations page.
Find the Klaviyo integration and enter your API key in the Configuration field.
Save to connect your Klaviyo account.
Step 3: Enable event sync
Once connected, enable the Sync rePete nudge and order events to Klaviyo toggle. This automatically pushes nudge-sent and order-placed activity to Klaviyo as custom metrics and is required for segmentation and the content block.
rePete content block
The rePete Universal Content Block can be added to any existing Klaviyo email campaign to automatically surface reorder reminders to customers who are due.
Enable the content block
In the rePete admin, navigate to the Integrations page.
With the Klaviyo integration connected and event sync enabled, toggle on the Klaviyo content block setting.
Note: The content block cannot be enabled if rePete's email channel is disabled.
Add the content block to a Klaviyo campaign
Once enabled, the rePete Universal Content Block will be available inside Klaviyo's email editor. To use it:
Open an existing email campaign or template in Klaviyo.
Find the rePete Universal Content Block in the content block library.
Drag and drop it into your email template in the position you want it to appear.
Use Klaviyo's preview feature to see how the block will populate for different recipients.
How the content block works
The block only displays content for recipients who are due to reorder within 7 days of the email send. For all other recipients, the block does not appear.
The block surfaces the single best reorder recommendation, even if a customer is due for more than one product.
The block supports Shopify Markets, displaying in the customer's preferred language and currency.
No manual setup is required for each send. The block populates automatically based on rePete's reorder data.
Using rePete events for segmentation
If you have enabled Sync rePete nudge and order events to Klaviyo, you can use the rePete Nudge Sent and rePete Order Placed events to build segments in Klaviyo. A common use case is creating a segment of customers who have recently received a rePete nudge, so you can exclude them from other Klaviyo campaigns and avoid over-messaging.
Create a rePete nudge segment
In Klaviyo, navigate to Audiences and select Lists & Segments.
Click Create and select New Segment to create a dynamic list.
Under conditions, select What someone has done (or not done).
In the Person has field, select the rePete event you want to use — rePete Nudge Sent or rePete Order Placed.
Set your preferred time frame for the segment.
Click Create Segment.
Once your segment is created, you can select it as an exclusion list when building flows or campaigns in Klaviyo to ensure customers who have already received a rePete nudge are not messaged again within that window.
Important considerations
When event sync is enabled, rePete continues sending its own nudge messages. Use rePete segments in Klaviyo to avoid customers receiving overlapping messages from both platforms.
The content block requires event sync to be enabled and rePete's email channel to be active.
The content block acts as a complementary channel — it surfaces reorder reminders inside campaigns you are already sending, and does not create additional sends.
Advanced: Using Klaviyo as your sending channel
rePete supports using Klaviyo as your primary email and SMS sending channel, where Klaviyo handles all rePete nudge messages instead of rePete sending them directly. Because this changes how rePete delivers messages and affects features such as rePete's ability to personalize nudges, this setting is disabled by default and must be enabled by the Bold support team. Contact our Customer Success team through the chat widget to learn more.
If this setting is enabled for your account, you will need to create flows in Klaviyo triggered by the rePete Notification event. rePete sends this signal when it determines a customer is due to reorder, and your Klaviyo flow handles the message delivery. When building your email template, use {{event.order_link}} as your reorder button or CTA URL.
