What are Charging cards?

Charging cards are an RFID based alternative access method for some chargers on the OVO Charge network. A RFID card is a physical card that fits in your wallet in the same way as a credit card.

Where can I purchase a charging card?

Anyone can buy an RFID card via their OVO Charge account by navigating to the Charge Anywhere Card sub-menu in Settings - just check you're using a release version of 3.4.0 or above. First time RFID purchases come with a free £2/ €2 promo code which is automatically applied to your account. If you do not have a Boost yet, the promotion will be applied upon purchasing either a LIGHT or TURBO Boost. If you are already on a Boost, the promotion will be automatically applied at the next billing cycle.

If you already have a Boost promo added or ongoing, your new promo will be added as Pending and is applied once your existing promo elapses.

If you are not on a Boost, you'll have 30 days to buy a Boost and apply the promotion before it expires. Boosts can be cancelled at anytime.

How do I use my charging card?

Charging cards can be used on chargers that have an RFID reader. To make life easier, we've created a new filter to help you find these chargers.

Open filters and choose App if you only want to see chargers that can be accessed via the app (this is the default state), select Anywhere card if you only want to see chargers that can be used with the Charge Anywhere RFID card or Any if you want to see both RFID and App enabled chargers.
