In Bookinglayer, you can set different rules for last-minute bookings. In your Settings, you can define last-minute bookings (how many days prior to arrival?), set rules with regard to the deposits that need to be paid, and set all last-minute bookings to manual confirmation. Let us show you how.
1. Click on Settings Module
2. Click on General Settings > Deposit and Last minute.
3. Decide and set how many days before arrival a new booking should be considered last minute
4. Set up a default deposit percentage for all normal bookings
5. You can also choose a different deposit percentage for bookings considered last minute
E.g. In the screenshot below, the default deposit is set to 30%. If someone books less than 5 days prior to arrival, the deposit changes to 100%.
Important: You can disable the automatic confirmation for last-minute bookings. If this option is selected, bookings will always come with a request status and will need manual confirmation.
Other deposit options
Alternatively, when it comes to default and last-minute deposits, you can set the following.
Flexible percentage
Offer your customers the option to choose between two deposit amounts based on a percentage of the booking value.
This could be a 50% deposit for half payment or a 100% deposit for full payment.
Fixed amount
Require a fixed amount from your customer to confirm their booking.
Be careful activating this when you have multiple currencies enabled for your Booking Engine. Currently, we only support a single value, and it will use the currency from the booking. Also, avoid setting a fixed deposit amount that could be greater than the possible value of a booking.
