How to rename the document type

In the Bookipi, you have the flexibility to rename document types to suit your business needs. By default, the system includes document types such as Invoices, Estimates, Credit Notes, Delivery Notes, and Purchase Orders. However, you can customize these names, for example, changing "Invoice" to "Tax Invoice" to align with your preferred terminology or local business requirements.

This guide explains how to rename document types in the Bookipi Invoice mobile app.

Tap ‘More’ in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Tap Settings (the gear icon) in the top-right corner of the screen.

Under the Customization section, tap ‘Rename title and number’.

Choose the document type you would like to customize.

Enter the new title (e.g., change 'Invoice' to 'Tax Invoice'), add a Prefix if desired, and specify the starting number in the Next # field to determine the starting sequence.

Tap the 'Save' at the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

The category name will remain the same within the app interface.

The updated document title will only be reflected in the PDF version of the invoice.

A: Currently, the app supports five predefined document types, including the default invoice. Creating new, custom document types is not currently available.

A: Payment recording is only available for the default Invoice document type, which appears as the first tab in your document section.

A: Currently, document types cannot be hidden or deleted. All available types will remain visible in your document list.
