How to set the terms and conditions for proposals
Learn how to set and edit the terms and conditions in Bookipi Proposals with our simple steps below.
Step 1: Open Proposals
Click on 'Proposal' in either the dashboard menu or the left-hand panel of the screen.
Step 2: Create or Open a Proposal
Click ‘+ Create’ to start a new proposal, or select a previously saved draft proposal to continue editing.
Step 3: Access the ‘Service agreement’ Tab
Click the ‘Service agreement’ tab.
If the tab is missing, go to Settings (gear icon) at the lower left of your proposal and make sure ‘Service agreement’ is enabled.
Step 4: Locate the Terms and Conditions Section
Scroll down to the Terms and Conditions section in your proposal.
A standard Terms and Conditions template is provided for your proposal. However, since the generated templates may not always perfectly match your specific business needs, you can customize them according to your preferences. In this case, you can:
Add a Clause
Step 1: Add a New Clause
Click ‘+ New clause’ to add a new clause.
Alternatively, click the ‘+’ button between existing sections to insert a clause at that location.
Step 2: Enter the Clause Title and Content
Enter a Title and Content for your clause.
Tip: Click the Title to collapse the content editor. Your changes are saved automatically.
Step 3: (Optional) Update Default Settings
Click ‘Save as default’ in the top-right corner of the Service Agreement page if you want the clause to be automatically added to future proposals
Step 4: Send the Proposal
Review your proposal, then click ‘Send’ to submit it to your customer.
Edit a clause
Step 1: Edit the Clause
Click the clause Title or Content and make your changes as needed.
Tip: Click the Title to collapse the content editor. Your changes are saved automatically.
Step 2: (Optional) Update Default Settings
Click ‘Save as default’ in the top-right corner of the Service Agreement page to apply your changes to future proposals automatically.
Step 3: Send the Proposal
Review your proposal, then click ‘Send’ to submit it to your customer.
Hide the clause
Step 1: Hide the Clause
Click the eye icon on the far right of the clause to hide it.
Step 2: (Optional) Update Default Settings
Click ‘Save as default’ in the top-right corner of the Service Agreement page to keep the clause hidden in future proposals.
Step 3: Send the Proposal
Review your proposal, then click ‘Send’ to submit it to your customer.
Delete a clause
Step 1: Delete a Clause
Click the trash bin icon on the far right of the clause to remove it.
Step 2: Confirm Deletion
Click ‘Delete’ to confirm when you are prompted to delete the clause.
Step 3: (Optional) Update Default Settings
Click ‘Save as default’ in the top-right corner of the Service Agreement page to ensure this clause is no longer included in future proposals.
Step 4: Send the Proposal
Review your proposal, then click ‘Send’ to submit it to your customer.
Rearrange clauses
Step 1: Rearrange the Clause Order
Select a clause until the hand icon appears, then click and hold to drag it up or down to your desired position.
Step 2: (Optional) Update Default Settings
Click ‘Save as default’ in the top-right corner of the Service Agreement page to apply the updated clause order to future proposals.
Step 3: Send the Proposal
Review your proposal, then click ‘Send’ to submit it to your customer.
Note: The steps above apply only to Proposal AI. If a proposal in your list does not have an AI tag, the older UI may be displayed.
