How to activate payments on web
Learn how to activate card payments on Bookipi Invoice Web v2 with these simple steps.
Step 1: Access the Settings Page
On your dashboard, click on your business icon in the upper-right corner of the page.
If you have multiple companies in your account, select the company for which you want to enable card payments.
Then, click 'Settings' below your account email address.
Step 2: Navigate to the Payment Section
Under the ‘General’ tab, scroll to the Payment section.
Step 3: Enable card payments
From the Accept card payments option, click ‘Connect with card’, which will redirect you to the Stripe onboarding process.
The next steps will guide you through the Stripe onboarding process so you can start accepting card payments from your customers.
Step 4: Email Field in Stripe Onboarding
In the Stripe onboarding screen, your Bookipi Invoice email address will be pre-filled in the Email field. Once you’ve confirmed the email address, select ‘Submit’ to continue.
You can enter an alternative email address: if you have an existing Stripe account or if you would like to create a Stripe account under a different email address.
Step 5: Create a Password
Enter a strong and secure password for your Stripe account. Once done, select ‘Submit’ to proceed.
Step 6: Two-Step Authentication
Set up authentication via an authenticator app or mobile SMS.
If using an authenticator app, simply scan the QR code displayed on the screen.
For SMS verification, select your country code, enter your mobile number, and then select ‘Send text’ to receive a verification code.
Once you have completed either the authenticator app or SMS verification, select 'Next' to proceed.
Step 7: Verify your login
Verify your login by entering the code sent to your mobile device or authenticator app.
Save the provided emergency backup code in case you lose access to your device. Once done, select 'Next' to proceed.
Step 8: Business Details
In the Business Details section, enter details about your business including address, type of business, and business structure. Select ‘Continue’ once you have entered all your details.
Step 9: Legal Business Information
Enter Legal business name, Business number, Business name, Address, Phone, Industry, Website, and Product description.
This fulfills Stripe's Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements to protect against fraud. These details may vary depending on the country you operate in.
Select ‘Continue’ once you have entered all your business details.
If you don’t have a website, you can provide any form of online presence, such as your Facebook, Instagram, or blog, that is related to your business. Alternatively, if you have a LinkedIn page associated with your business, you can share that as well. This helps establish your business presence and credibility.
Step 10: Verify Your Details
Add your personal details for verification, including your Legal Name, Email Address, Date of Birth, Address, and Phone Number.
Once all required information is entered, select ‘Continue’ to proceed.
Step 11: Add Public details for customers
Enter your business’ support details so that customers can identify that they have been charged by your business.
You can include a statement descriptor to be visible on payment statements, a shortened descriptor, and/or a customer support phone number.
Select 'Continue' to save changes.
Step 12: Add an account for payouts
Enter the bank account details that you would like your funds to be paid into. Review to check that your account details are correct and select 'Save' to save changes.
Step 13 (Optional): Show your customer your climate commitment
You can choose to add an optional contribution to fight climate change or select ‘No thanks’.
You can also choose to add service tax or select ‘Not right now’.
Step 14: Review and Submit
Review all of your details. If there is any information that needs to be corrected, select ‘Edit’ on the top right of each box.
Select ‘Agree and submit’ when you're ready to submit.
To check on the progress of the approval of your account, log in to the Stripe dashboard. Stripe may send an email if additional information is required to verify your account. Once you have verified your account, you can start using card payments in Bookipi Invoice.
