How to accept or decline a payment intent
If a customer has already paid an invoice but you haven't enabled card payments yet, here's what you need to know to ensure a smooth setup and payment process with Stripe in Bookipi Invoice.
Getting Started
Upon creating your Bookipi Invoice account, the accept card payment option is enabled by default. While customers can enter their card details to initiate payment, no transactions will be processed until you complete the Stripe setup.
How to accept the payment intent
Sign Up for Stripe:
You need to sign up for a Stripe account within 7 days of a customer entering their card details. If you do not complete the signup or turn off the card payment feature within this period, no charges will be processed.
How to Sign Up:
Via Email: To begin receiving credit card payments, use the email notification you received regarding your customer’s payment attempt. This email contains a button that directs you to the Stripe Connect onboarding page. Click the button to sign up for a Stripe account and complete the verification process. Once your Stripe setup is complete, payments made through Bookipi invoices will be deposited directly into your Stripe account.
Via Mobile App:
Open the Bookipi Invoice app.
Navigate to More > Settings > Customer Payment Option. From there, enable the Accept Card Payments option.
Complete all the required details and authorize access to your account. For additional information, you can refer to the provided link.
Via the Web App:
Click on your user icon located at the bottom left of the page, then navigate to Settings.
Under the General tab, scroll down to the Payment section and select "Connect with card" next to Accept card payments.
Fill in all the required information and authorize access to your account to complete the setup.
Fees
Signing up for a Stripe account is completely free of charge. However, accepting card payments through our platform incurs a per-transaction fee, which varies depending on your country and the type of card used. These fees are outlined in detail on the linked page for your reference.
How to decline the payment intent
If you don’t want to use Stripe or accept card payments, you can turn off this feature:
To disable card payments in the mobile app, navigate to More > Settings > Customer Payment Option, then toggle off the "Accept Card Payments" feature.
To turn off card payments on the web app, click on your user icon at the bottom left of the screen, go into Settings, scroll to the Payment section under the General tab, and toggle off the ‘Accept card payments’ option.
The Accept card payments feature does not process any charges to your customer unless you have completed the Stripe setup to accept the payment. If you have not set up Stripe to accept the payment, your customer will not be charged. Instead, the funds will be placed on hold in their account for up to 7 days. During this time, no money is transferred. After 7 days, the hold will be automatically released, and a notification will be sent indicating that the payment was not accepted.

Q: How can I check which bank is linked to my Stripe account?
A: To check which bank account is linked to your Stripe account, log in to your Stripe Dashboard, navigate to Settings, and select Bank accounts and scheduling. This section will display the details of the connected bank account, and you can update it if needed.
