How to accept or decline a payment intent
If a customer has paid an invoice but you haven’t set up card payments yet, here’s what you need to know to ensure everything goes smoothly with your payments in Bookipi Invoice via Stripe.
Getting Started
When you create your Bookipi Invoice account, the option to accept credit card payments is turned on automatically. Your customers can enter their card details to pay, but no money will be taken until you set up Stripe.
How to accept the payment intent
Sign Up for Stripe:
You need to sign up for a Stripe account within 7 days of a customer entering their card details. If you don’t sign up or turn off the feature, no charges will be processed.
How to Sign Up:
Via Email: Use the email you received about the payment to sign up.
Via Mobile App:
Open the Bookipi Invoice app.
Go to Settings > Customer Payment Options > Accept Credit Card.
Fill in the details and authorize access to Stripe.
Via the Web App:
Click your user icon
Go to Settings
Under the General tab scroll down to Payment.
Enable the 'Accept Credit Card' button.
Fill in the details and authorize access to Stripe.
Fees
Sign-Up Cost: Signing up for Stripe is free.
Transaction Fees: Each payment has a fee, which depends on the country and the card used. See this link for details on fees.
How to decline the payment intent
If you don’t want to use Stripe or accept card payments, you can turn off this feature:
Go to Settings in Bookipi Invoice.
Go to Customer Payment Options.
Turn off Accept Credit Card.
A payment intent will not be processed until you sign up for card payments with Stripe within 7 days. If you turn this feature off or do not register within 7 days of the customer entering their card payment details, then no charges will be made.
