Cancellations
Updated this week

Each question cancellation reduces the amount of scored questions within an entry and regresses the entry payout down a pick.

  • 8 picks in an entry regress to 7 picks

  • 7 picks in an entry regress to 6 picks

  • 6 picks in an entry regress to 5 picks

  • The pattern continues until the entry regresses to 2 picks

If an entry has 2 picks remaining and one gets canceled, then the entry will be canceled and refunded.

After each cancellation the entry gets revalidated to make sure there is a valid amount of picks left and that the remaining eligible picks are all from 2 teams. Entries that fail to meet these qualifications as a result of a cancellation will be canceled and refunded.

Below are the conditions for an inactive athlete:

  • NFL/CFB - if an athlete doesn't play a snap.

  • NBA - if an athlete plays 0 minutes.

  • MLB - if an athlete isn’t in the starting lineup (excluding pitchers). If a pitcher does not start but does enter the game in relief, that pitcher is considered active.

  • NHL - if an athlete does not have at least 1 second time on ice (skater), if an athlete doesn’t start (goalie).

  • Soccer - if an athlete doesn’t start.

  • Tennis - if an athlete doesn't start the match.

  • MMA/Boxing - if the fight does not begin or if it ends in a no contest. If the fight ends in a disqualification or a draw, all questions will be scored as usual.

  • NASCAR - If the race is canceled or relocated before starting, all questions will be canceled. If a race starts and is suspended, questions will stand as long as the race is resumed and finished within 7 days of suspension, even if the race ends up being shortened. If it takes more than 7 days for the race to be completed, questions will be canceled.

  • ESPORTS - A player must play in at least 50% of each map specified in order for their question(s) to count. For example, if a question includes Maps 1 + 2, they must play in at least 50% of each of those maps. If a CS2 match is delayed or postponed 24 hours or more after the scheduled start time, the questions from that match will be canceled. If a map or round is restarted by the tournament or league organizer, then all stats recorded prior to the restart will not count. If a map is forfeited, all questions from that match that include the forfeited map will be canceled. We will refer to the tournament or league organizer regarding technical difficulties in CS2 matches and events. We will also follow the rulings of the tournament or league organizers regarding situations where the integrity of a match has been compromised. If a match is posted in the CS2 lobby but is played as CS:GO, all questions will be canceled. Additionally, if questions are available in the lobby after the match has already started, the questions will be canceled in entries that were placed after the match started.

*Inactivity is subject to the duration asked in the question (e.g., 1st Half, 2nd Half, etc). Shortened games that are deemed “official games” will be scored as usual.

If a game is postponed, questions for the game will be canceled. Boom may also cancel all questions for a game that has been suspended depending on the duration and time of the postponement.
