Overview
Boom does not yet have a direct integration with AppFolio. Not to worry - our AppFolio ‘lite’ integration is a breeze to set up and automates nearly everything for you.
Here are the high-level steps we’ll walk through to set up the ‘lite’ integration:
Step A. Create a custom report
Step B: Email the custom report to enroll initial batch of renters
Step C: Schedule the custom report for scheduled monthly email
Step D: Email Boom that you’re all set up!
Step A: Create a custom report
1. Click on Report Builder
2. Select Base Report as ‘Tenant Directory’ report
3. Deselect all items and add specific columns from ‘Tenant Directory’ report
First, remove all selected columns. Then, select only the following 18 columns from the top pane (Tenant Directory columns):

Emails | Tenant City | Last Lease Renewal |
Move-in | Tenant State | Move-out |
Lease To | Tenant Zip | First Name |

4. Select columns from Other Reports - ‘Delinquency (As Of)’
Scroll down and in the second pane (Other Reports), select the following 9 columns:
Phone Numbers | 0-30 | 90+ |
Amount Receivable | 30-60 | Delinquent Rent |
Primary Tenant Email | 60-90 | In Collections |
Note: It’s better to select these columns directly without searching. There are several columns AppFolio that are named the same with no specification (e.g. “0-30”).
After you’ve selected all columns in both panes, click ‘Continue’.
5. Set your filters
Set as shown below:
Tenants = Show Active Tenants
Tenant Status = All
Tenant Type = All
Properties = Show Active Properties
After you’ve set filters, click ‘Update’.
6. Review the report and Save Layout
Your report should look approximately like this:
Now, click ‘Actions’ and save the layout, labeling it “Report Builder - Tenant Directory (Boom-NAME)” where “NAME” is your company’s name.
Step B: Email the custom report to enroll initial batch of renters
1. To enroll your initial batch of renters, download the CSV, edit the file and email to *integration+[partnername]@boompay.app
Download the CSV
Delete any rows of renters who you don’t want to enroll right now
Send an email with this attachment to appfolio@boompay.app
Include in subject line: “[YourCompanyName] - Enroll renters”
Step C: Schedule the custom report for scheduled monthly email
Select ‘Schedule’ from ‘Actions’ button:
Then set the fields as follows and click ‘Save’:
All text fields = “Month End Send”
Format = CSV
Recipients = *integration+[partnername]@boompay.app
Start Date = last date of current month
Frequency = Monthly
Step D: Email Boom that you’re all set up!
After you select ‘Save’ you should see the following screen. Now, just send a quick email to Boom as follows:
To: *integration+[partnername]@boompay.app, partnerships@boompay.app
Subject: “I’ve set up my AppFolio integration”
Body: [Nothing necessary, unless you have questions!]
*integration+[partnername]@boompay.app is a placeholder email address, your Account Manager will provide the correct email address to use for sending reports!
