Yes, you are required to link your bank account to Boom. We use a highly-encrypted third-party service called Plaid to link your bank account safely and securely.

Please link the bank account (or accounts) that you normally use to pay rent.

If you do not link your bank account or if your bank isn't available on Plaid, we are unfortunately unable to serve you.

Boom only accepts rent paid via a bank account or bank-linked method. Acceptable rent payment methods include ACH, direct deposit, online rental portal, your landlord / utility provider portal, check, or payment apps such as Venmo, Zelle, and/or PayPal.

Unfortunately, we do not report rent paid with cash, money orders, or cashiers checks.

Boom will automatically search for these payments in your bank account transactions each month using advanced matching technology. We do not accept cash or money orders because these cannot be properly verified through our system. Boom does not accept rent receipts or call landlords for rent verification.

If you are unable to link the bank account(s) you use to pay rent to your Boom account, we are unable to report your rent payments.
