Which name should I enter as my landlord in BoomReport?

This article is for renters who are setting up rent reporting and need to know how to correctly enter their landlord or property manager information.

Why Boom Needs Your Landlord's Information

Before Boom can report your rent payments to the credit bureaus, Boom must verify your current landlord and/or property manager. Entering the correct landlord information ensures this verification can be completed without delays.

If You Pay Rent to an Individual Landlord

If you make your rent payments directly to an individual person — such as an independent landlord who owns the property — enter the following:

  • Their first and last name

  • Their email address

If You Pay Rent to a Company

If you make your rent payments to a property management company or any other business — rather than to an individual person — enter the following:

  • The company name

  • The company phone number

  • The company email address

Important: Do not enter the name of an individual who works for the company, such as someone at the front desk or in the leasing office. Enter the company's information only.

Not Sure Which Applies to You?

A simple way to tell the difference:

  • If your rent check, bank transfer, or payment portal is addressed to a person's name — enter that individual's name and email address.

  • If your rent check, bank transfer, or payment portal is addressed to a business name — enter the company's name, phone number, and email address.
