[Admins] How to Add Agents
Updated over a year ago

Overview

As a Broker/Admin user you will have access to updating, removing and adding Agent accounts for your team!

To access your Agent user list, open your left-hand navigation menu, click on the Admin tab, and then select the Users - Agents option.

Add an Agent

It is very important that you do not overwrite an existing Agent account to add a new Agent account to the system. Doing so can cause issues with text messages and emails sent through the system.

To add a new Agent user, click on the + Add a New Agent button in the top right corner of your Agent list page.

When adding a new Agent to the system you only need to fill out the required information indicated by a red asterisk.

Login Info

The Login/Email address entered in this box affects…

  • how your Agent will login to their BoomTown account

  • where your Agent will receive BoomTown email notifications such as new leads, info requests, etc.

  • where your Agent will receive reply emails from leads

  • what email address will display under your Agent's Pages on the website

Settings

When setting up your new Agent, you'll have the choice about the Agent's user roles. Decide whether to mark them as an Active user (Active Agent or Broker/Admin) or as a Profile-Only Agent.

The Profile-Only user role means that your Agent will not have access to many features, most notably, they will not be able to receive leads through the lead rotation and will not be able to be transferred leads. For more details, check out our User Roles & Permissions article!

NOTE - Launch platforms will not have a Profile-Only User option

You can also choose whether you’d like to show the Agent on the site and whether you’d like to send them Buyer leads, Seller leads or Both through the respective rotations.

You can always adjust these additional settings after your Agent is added to the system.

Agent Website Address

Next, create a URL for your new Agent's website, also known as the Agent subdomain.

Most Broker/Admins will use their Agents' first names in the Agent website URLs.

The Agent's name replaces the "www" in the URL. So the Agent website will not actually include "www", rather it will look like this: http://agentname.yourcompanysite.com/

MLS Info

If you have your Agent's MLS ID, you can enter it here to have their listings display on their Agent website under their My Listings tab.

Your Agent can later add this ID themselves within their profile page.

Contact Info

You are required to enter your Agent’s first and last name.

Your Agent can later enter the rest of their information like phone number, additional email address, awards, bio, etc. by accessing their profile page!

Activate Now

As a final option, you can choose to activate the Agent now or have them activate their own account.

Either option will send a Welcome Email to your Agent's Login/Email address explaining how to access their account and where to finish entering their information.

All the information that you choose not to enter can be entered by the Agent at their convenience, when they log in their accounts and access their My Profile page!
