Your Agent Subdomain
BoomTown provides each Agent user with a personalized webpage that we refer to as an Agent website or Agent sub-domain.
Agent sub-domains have the same functionality and branding as your main BoomTown company website, but will feature the photograph and contact information specific to you as the Agent associated with the sub-domain on the homepage, listing Full Details pages, and the Agent page.
Your main company website address looks something like www.yourcompanysite.com. Whereas, Agent websites have the same top-level domain name as the company site, but the third-level domain is personalized, replacing the "www." with the Agent's name, resulting in a URL like http://bob.yourcompanywebsite.com.
Most often a Broker/Admin will choose to personalize Agent sub-domains using the first name only, however, this varies between teams.
Lead Registration & Agent Assignment
Be sure to use your personal Agent website address in marketing materials, so you’ll get the leads you've earned-- since unregistered site visitors who register while on your Agent website will automatically be assigned to you.
This assignment is true regardless of whether you're currently in rotation to receive leads.
Agent Website Address
The URL for your Agent subdomain will not include "www" at the beginning and will instead reflect another intro of your preference-- usually http://agentname.yourcompanysite.com/.
This can be edited within the My Profile section of your account.
Featured Agent
Another way that your Agent subdomain differs is that an unregistered visitor on your company website will see the contact information & pictures for Agents who are set to receive leads in the lead rotation.
On your Agent sub-domain, only your Agent information will ever be displayed on the website on the main homepage, the listing Full Details pages, and all contact forms.
On the main Company website, an unregistered visitor can click the Agent tab for a list of all Agents on your team who are set to show on the website.
In contrast, on an Agent site, that tab will read Agent and will link directly to the Agent's profile with pictures, bio, listings, and contact information.
The same will be true of the Contact Us option, which will display as Contact Me, and the Our Listings menu item, which will update to show as My Listings.

Forwarding your Personal Domain to a Specific Page
If you purchased a personal domain through an outside domain provider, you should be able to use the instructions above for the applicable provider to set up domain forwarding -- to automatically redirect visitors to a specific page on your BoomTown website:
1. Decide which webpage you want the personal domain to forward to!
Open your internet browser and visit the desired page on your BoomTown site.
Go to the very top of your screen to the web address field of the browser. Copy the entire web address for the page (also referred to as "URL") .
2. Log in to your domain provider account.
Follow the applicable steps outlined by the provider.
Regardless of the provider you're using, there should be an option about masking the domain --make certain you did NOT select this option, and instead leave the domain unmasked!
Forwarding your Personal Domain to your BoomTown Agent Website
Log in to your domain provider account
Follow the applicable steps outlined by the provider.
In the location where you're asked to input the URL to forward your personal domain to, enter the web address for your BoomTown Agent Website.
There is NO “www” in your BoomTown Agent Website URL, the format is: http://yourname.yourcompanysite.com/
Make certain you NOT select the option to mask domain, or your agent site will not function.
What Can You Customize?
On your subdomain, you have the ability to customize a few things!
Welcome Message & Agent Page
With the overall company website, you will only be able to see the team's welcome text on the homepage, but on your Agent website, you will be able to also include your own professional bio to have it displayed prominently above the company's overall message!
Your personal information here can be updated at your convenience by selecting the My Profile option, found in the right-hand drop-down menu displayed when selecting your photo icon.
Once on this page, scroll down to the Personal Info section, and then down to the Professional Bio field.
Any additions to the Professional Title, Your Tag Line or Professional Bio fields should update accordingly in the welcome message on your Agent subdomain.
The Professional Bio field of your profile is HTML-responsive, in case you'd like to include a code from an outside source, or embed an image for a designation, etc.
Additionally, any changes to the information above should reflect on your Agent page on the website, found by navigating to the Agent option in the menu bar!
Office & Mobile Phone Numbers
If you'd like to update the Office and/or Mobile phone numbers displayed with your information on the website, this can also be done within your My Profile page in your account!
Simply scroll down to the Personal Info section, and locate the Office Phone and Mobile Phone fields to enter or update your contact numbers!
Agent Social Media Icons
If you'd like to have your personal social media sites associated with your contact information on the site, they can be added at your convenience through the Social Media Settings area of your right-hand drop-down menu!
Simply enter the full URL for each of your applicable social media accounts, and once you save the changes, the appropriate icons will be added along with your contact information on the website!
Agent Website Address
In your BoomTown account, you can locate the URL for your Agent website by selecting the My Profile option.
Once on this page, scroll down to the Agent Website section to view and edit your subdomain address.
There is no "www." in an Agent website address, just http://agentname.yourcompanysite.com/
We generally recommend avoiding changing your Agent subdomain address if possible, since consistency will be better for your leads, and for any marketing efforts you put forth to advertise your Agent website.
Agent Subdomain Customization
With permissions granted from a Broker/Admin user, Agent users can now customize their homepage with a totally fresh look using My Site Customizer!
To customize your Agent subdomain, you will want to click on the Tools tab located in the navigation bar on the left side of the page in your BoomTown account. Then, click on the Customize Website option.
Click on Launch WordPress.
Click on My Site Customizer located on the left of the page.
You will have the option to edit your homepage background image/video, homepage template, homepage intro (welcome text and image), and homepage widgets.
Please note, the Scout website theme includes an interactive map as the default background, which cannot be changed. The homepage text widget and photo, however, can be customized.
When clicking on Homepage Widgets, you will be able to customize your homepage welcome text and your homepage welcome text image.
When scrolling down in the menu bar located on the left side of the page, you will have the option to add a widget.
Your widget options are currently another homepage text widget or a teaser widget.
