CallAction is a system that uses trackable phone numbers to instantly respond to inbound lead calls, track those calls and engage with leads through optimized drip campaigns.

If you'd like to integrate your BoomTown account with CallAction, to be able to utilize the features of CallAction while having those leads and their follow-up correspondence log back in BoomTown, the first step is to obtain an account with them!

Since they are a system independent from BoomTown, their services must be purchased separately. To learn more about CallAction, the services they offer, and about a free trial, click below!

Connecting Your CallAction Account

Once you have a CallAction account, you can connect it to BoomTown either directly through CallAction, or by taking the following steps within your BoomTown account!

First navigate to your image & name in the upper right corner, and select the Integrations option from the drop-down menu.

On the Integrations page, scroll down to the CallAction option toward the bottom of the page, and you'll see the following three buttons:

  • Support will take you to CallAction's article about integrating with BoomTown. This will also offer you, as a CallAction client, the ability to chat with CallAction Support, in case you have any CallAction specific questions!

  • Sign-Up is where you could go to start a free trial if you don't already have CallAction!

  • Log In will allow you, as long as you have an account with CallAction, to login and begin the integration set up process!

Select the Log In button, and you'll be directed to a sign in page on CallAction, where you can enter the login credentials for your CallAction account!

Once logged in, select your CallAction profile drop-down menu, and choose the Integrations option. Then on the CallAction Integrations page, select the BoomTown icon button.

On the page that displays next, select the button for BoomTown Integration Verification, enter your BoomTown username and password, and you'll be re-directed your BoomTown account to sign in.

Choose the Submit button on this page, and you'll be directed back to CallAction, where you can choose to Save All Changes.

Once you've saved the changes in CallAction, then you should be all set!

Once your BoomTown account is connected, there are additional steps you need to take within CallAction to activate phone numbers, etc., so please be sure to consult CallAction's article on the integration for more details!

Receiving Leads & Data from CallAction

Once you've set up the integration between your BoomTown and CallAction accounts, data about your CallAction leads will be able to be added and updated automatically in your BoomTown account!

When a lead is added in CallAction, any data associated with it from CallAction (such as number look-up data, calls logged, text message conversations, etc.) should then be added as a new lead, or appended to an existing lead profile in BoomTown (through a note such as the one included below).

Transferring of Information

New Leads

New leads that are generated in CallAction and don't already exist in BoomTown will be imported automatically into BoomTown through the integration. For these leads, the following will be true:

  • Leads will have CALLACTION as their source

  • Lead Type will be determined by the settings for the number in CallAction (see below)

  • Lead assignment will be determined by the settings for the number in CallAction (see below)

CallAction will attempt to "match" their lead data to existing leads in your team's BoomTown acccount, by checking the email address first, and phone number second. If no matches are found, a new profile will be created within BoomTown.

Existing BoomTown Leads

Certain data coming over from CallAction will automatically update contact information within existing BoomTown lead profiles on your account. This will only occur if the data CallAction is sending over isn't already included in the lead profiles for those leads in BoomTown. Some examples of how this will function are:

  • If a lead doesn't have a phone number, but CallAction does have a phone number associated with the lead based on the lead's email address -- CallAction's data will update the lead profile in BoomTown with the phone number.

  • If a lead's name in BoomTown is "Unknown, Unknown," but CallAction finds a matching first and last name for the lead based on their contact information -- CallAction's data will update the lead profile in BoomTown with the first and last name for the lead.

Settings in CallAction

The way in which lead data is populated in BoomTown depends upon unique settings that are put in place in CallAction for each specific CallAction number being utilized.


In particular, the following are very important, as they will dictate how data is processed on BoomTown's end.

  • You can set the Lead Type of all leads coming through a certain number in CallAction. For instance, if you are going to be advertising your special CallAction number on a "For Sale" sign, you'll likely elect to have all leads calling into that number come in as Buyers. In doing so, then all leads that are imported from CallAction in association with this number will be imported as Buyer leads.

  • If you are an Admin user in CallAction, you can set up an Agent rotation for the leads coming in through a certain number (similar to BoomTown's Lead Matching feature). This is important, because the person that's assigned to the lead through this rotation in CallAction will be the Agent assigned to that lead when it's imported into BoomTown.

  • If you are an Admin user in CallAction, you can elect to have a lead's current Agent assignment in BoomTown overwritten by the assignment in CallAction -- through the CallAction Existing Lead Assignment setting. This means that for existing BoomTown leads, it's possible to have the leads automatically transferred within BoomTown by CallAction, based on the Agent assignment in CallAction.

    With this setting, leads will automatically be transferred away from the currently assigned Agent in BoomTown, to get to the Agent assigned in CallAction. A note should display in the lead's profile to record this, however, in these instances, it's important to note that the Agents having the leads transferred away will no longer have access to them after the transfer has taken place in the system.
