My Agent Finder FAQ

What is My Agent Finder?

  • My Agent Finder (MAF) is a website designed to help consumers find real estate agents. And this is how it works:

  • MAF is not an IDX site so it does not offer the ability to search properties. It uses keywords and retargeting to drive homebuyers/sellers that are searching for an agent, to myagentfinder.com. More specifically, the keywords focus on consumers looking for a real estate agent (not property-specific keywords).

  • The consumer then completes a form and MAF contacts and screens each inquiry

  • MAF researches local agents and makes a warm intro to the local agent and lender within the MAF network

  • MAF tracks the relationship and transaction through to a successful close

  • MAF receives a referral fee from the agent who successfully closes the transaction.

Why did BoomTown acquire My Agent Finder (MAF)?

Today, BoomTown currently offers technology and services designed to generate, engage, and convert leads for real estate agents. With the acquisition of MyAgentFinder we’ll be able to further extend our lead gen capabilities by identifying home buyers and sellers that are actively looking for an agent, not a property, and provide those leads to customers/members of the referral network. We are committed to providing ROI for our clients and delivering transaction-ready leads is a key component.

How much does My Agent Finder (MAF) cost?

There is no upfront cost for the referral lead. A referral fee is collected as percentage of the closed transaction. Currently it is 35% of the closing agent’s commission.

Will BoomTown customers automatically get enrolled in the My Agent Finder (MAF) network of referred agents? If not, how do I start receiving referrals?

No, not automatically, but we are currently collecting an interest list of agents who would like more information about joining the network. You can email support@myagentfinder.com to learn more about becoming part of the referral network.

Is this going to change the way BoomTown works today? Is this going to change the way that BoomTown works in the future?

No, there is no change to the way BoomTown works today. MAF will operate as a separate company under the BoomTown family. We are focused on bringing more value to you, the customer and we will stay true to our mission to always make the real estate agent successful!

I am not a current My Agent Finder (MAF) client, who do I contact with questions or interest in MAF?

We are currently collecting an interest list of agents who would like more information about joining the network. You can email support@myagentfinder.com to learn more about becoming part of the referral network.

I’m a customer of both BoomTown and My Agent Finder (MAF). Who should I contact for questions?

  • In the immediate future, you can contact BoomTown support for questions pertaining to your BoomTown website and CRM.

  • For questions related to your MAF referral, please contact us at referrals@myagentfinder.com.

I want to use BoomTown and My Agent Finder (MAF) together today! Is that possible?

Today, there is no integration between My Agent Finder (MAF) and BoomTown. BoomTown can manage leads from MAF with manual entry from the BoomTown agent. We want our customers to be in the know about the integration so we’ll provide an update on the long-term plan the first half of 2020.

When will My Agent Finder (MAF) be integrated with BoomTown?

We want our customers to be in the know, so we’ll provide an update on the long-term plan in the first half of 2020.

Will this give BoomTown customers the ability to refer leads to one another (agent-to-agent)?

Right now, there is no functionality to refer leads agent-to-agent but it will be included in the roadmap for development.

Will referrals be offered to me (the Broker Owner) or are you going to offer them to my Agents too?

Today, the referral network is available for any licensed real estate agent. Because there is no cost unless the lead completes a transaction with the agent, there is no cost to the broker for the agent to participate. It’s a win-win for the broker and agent.

If BoomTown is generating leads for MAF and my business, do those compete with each other?

No, the tactics used to generate traffic to MAF and the experience offered to consumers does not overlap with that of BoomTown websites. BoomTown websites offer consumers an IDX powered property search experience and captures traffic with that intent. MyAgentFinder.com is not an IDX site and does not offer consumers the ability to search properties. The types of traffic MAF focuses on is centered around agent search.

Something that is not the primary offering on a BoomTown website, is sparse at a local level, and tends to be high cost relative to that of property search. For these reasons, we do not target this type of traffic for BoomTown clients. Plus, MAF has been in business and co-existing with BoomTown since 2014.
