DAT performance is based on an ability-referenced system and reported in standard scores ranging from 1 to 30. Therefore, the test is NOT scored on a curve.

Standard scores provide normative information about examinee knowledge and problem-solving skills, allowing a direct comparison of an examinee’s ability with other examinee’s abilities.
