Students have been recently been noticing floating cube questions appear on the DAT. If you encounter one of these questions, don't worry, just know that it doesn’t really change the way you tackle cube counting questions.

The key to solving these questions is that you cannot assume a cube is there unless there are any indications. So basically when in doubt, assume there is no cube there.
