Standard vs Gallery View on VRI Calls

See how Standard and Gallery views differ on VRI calls, how to switch between them, and the per-attendee options like Pin, Detach, and Minimize.

Written by Quinn Bott

On VRI calls you can switch between two views, Standard and Gallery, and pick the one that gives you the best conference experience.

Standard view

Standard view is the default when a VRI call begins. Your own video is smaller in the top-right corner, and the other attendee is the larger focal point in the middle. With multiple attendees, one is the focal point while the others appear smaller in the top right next to your video.

Gallery view

Gallery view shows all attendees in the same size window. To switch, select Standard in the top right and choose Gallery.

Per-attendee options

Select the three dots next to an attendee for more options:

· Detach — move the attendee’s video anywhere in the window.

· Minimize — remove the attendee’s video from view (shown at the bottom right of your video).

· Pin — make the attendee the largest, focal video. Pinning in Gallery view switches back to Standard view.

Note: Detach, Minimize, and Pin only change your view, not other attendees’.

For users invited through Share Call, you’ll also see Remove User (to remove them from the conference) and Mute.
