Where do I manage SMS templates?
First, open your Dashboard and find the assistant on the that you want to enable SMS notifications for (most people only have one, but we support multiple assistants).
Click View More to expand the control panel
Click Notifications Centre.
Click the SMS Outbound (sent to your callers) tab at the top of the page.
Once enabled, you will see a button Manage Your SMS Templates. Clicking this will open your templates.
How do I add a new SMS template?
Once in the Manage Your SMS Templates page:
Click Add an SMS Template.
Select a Message Type (it is important that you use a unique name for each template as this is how your assistant will know which one to send).
Write your SMS content.
Once you save the template, we will count how many characters long it is.
The length of your message determines how many SMS messages are sent.
Each SMS is up to 160 characters long. We can string up to 4 of these together and send a long SMS message if you like, but you'll be charged for multiple messages.
Some customers like to use URL shortening services like Bitly to trim long URLs.
