Creating Ticket Setups

This document will help guide users through the process of creating ticket setups that can then be attached to individual events.

Updated this week

NOTE: This article only pertains to setups for individual events. If you are interested in setting up season/year long passes please contact Bound Onboarding Team or Account Manager.

Part 1: Navigating to the Setup Area

Begin by clicking on the "events icon" in the primary task bar and then select “Ticketing” in the gray secondary taskbar.

Once in the Ticketing area, click on the tab that says “Setups”

On the top right corner of the Setups page, click the “Manage Ticketing” button and in the drop down select “Add Ticketing Setup”.

Setup Details:

Name: In the Setup Details section, give the setup a meaningful and unique name that reflects the events the ticket set up will be used for. For example if the ticket setup will be used for admission to all high school events, a good name might be: HS Event Admission.

School Year: The School Year should automatically be set to the academic year you are currently working in on the Bound Admin Site.

Description: The Description section is optional, but allows you to put in specific details about the event(s) the setup will be tied to. Ask yourself what does the public need to know when purchasing these tickets.
The Description displays on the ticket page of your schools gobound.com public site when a patron is making a purchase.

Disclaimer: The Disclaimer is also optional and can be used to add specific details for your patron to see before they complete their checkout. It is displayed directly above the contact information section in the ticket purchase flow.
Examples of information you may list in the Disclaimer section would be:

>NO REFUNDS

>Student MUST show a current year Student ID to gain admittance to the Event

Gate Checkout Receipt Flow: This field is not applicable if a patron is checking out via the Gate App on the S700 Reader. Leave the radio button marked “Show All”.

Activation Color: Leave as is. This is the color the ticket will show when it has been used.

Activation Time Barrier (minutes): Set the number of minutes before an events start time that tickets can be activated using non-QR code methods.
>Set to 0 for no time restrictions.

Activation Duration: This duration is automatically set to 6 hours, and can be left "as is" or adjusted when adding ticket options to your set up.

Ticket Seating Chart: Leave this field blank
If doing a reserved seating event, contact Bound Support using the Green B or support@gobound.com and we will assist you in this type of set up.

Ticket Supporter: Leave at "None". For further information on having sponsor advertisements appear, contact Bound Support using the Green B chat in the system or support@gobound.com.

Passcode Protected: If toggled on the event will require a passcode to purchase tickets. Passcodes are sent out via email from the event box office.
For more information on Passcode protected events, please reach out to Bound Support using the Green B, or view this Help Doc: Sending Out Passcodes for Ticket Purchase

Enable QR Code:
If this is toggled on, ticket holders will receive a ticket with a QR Code that must be scanned for admission to the event. Scanning can be done on any device with a camera, or a QR code reader, or by the S700 POS reader.

If this is toggled off, ticket holders will get a ticket with the Tap at Gate option for gate admission.

Useable Across District Schools: This toggle is only turned on and used if the ticket set up is being done at the district enterprise level. The district enterprise level is for school districts with multiple schools (houses) in the Bound system.

Financial/Complimentary Details

Stripe Accounts: Make sure the radio button for “Bound Stripe Account (Connected)” is selected.
>If your ticketing Payee is a secondary Payee then choose that radio button and select the correct Payee in the drop down.

Upcharge Processing Fee: This toggle determines how the fees are handled for this individual ticket setup.

  • If the toggle is enabled or turned on, customers will pay the listed ticket price plus applicable fees, ensuring the school or organization receives the full ticket price amount.

  • If the toggle is disabled or turned off, the fee is included in the listed ticket price and accounted for in the payout to the school or organization. The purchasers will pay whatever price the listed ticket is set to on the ticket option, and the fees will be deducted from the school's payout amount.

This approach lets organizations choose whether to prioritize transparency in showing fees to customers or to absorb fees within the displayed ticket price for a streamlined customer experience.

Payee: If your ticketing Payee is a secondary Payee then select the correct Payee in the drop down.

Allow Complimentary Tickets: If toggled on, the ability to send tickets out for free to a fan/user from the box office checkout via email will be available. If left toggled off you can still send complimentary tickets but not from the box office portal that your ticket takers have access to.

Activity Pass Details:

If you need assistance setting up Activity Passes please contact Bound Support via the Green B or your Account Manager. Leave this section alone as it only pertains to season/year activity passes.

After completing all of the setup sections, make sure to hit SAVE!

Part 2: Adding Options

You must add one or more options to the Ticket Set Up for purchase by patrons.

You may choose to have one Option titled "General Admission, or you may choose to offer multiple options with titles such as Adult Admission and Student Admission.

To add options click on the "Options" tab in the horizontal task bar, and then click the “+ Add Option” button in the top right of the screen.

  • You will click "+ Add Option" each time you want to add a different type of admission.

Once on the Options Page select the correct information as follows:

Status: Set to "Active".

If an Option is no longer valid or available you may click the "Inactive" button. This will remove the Option from public view.

Name: Give the option a specific name.

  • If you are just doing 1 option, this could be as simple as naming the option "Admission Ticket".

  • If you are doing multiple options, you might name the option something like "Adult Admission", then add another option with the name "Student Admission".

Category: Click the Single Day button

If you need a Ticket Set Up for Multi-Day, Restricted or Flexible, please contact Bound Support using the Green B chat in the system or support@gobound.com and our team will assist you with the set up.

Start Date and End Date: Use this setting to restrict the dates when a ticket can be activated and used for gate entry.

  • These dates will default to the first and last days of the academic year.

  • Tickets will expire and not be available for use after the date of an event, therefore it is not necessary to change the end date for a ticket.

  • For ticket set ups that will be used for multiple events throughout the year it is important that you leave the defaulted start and end dates.

  • If the setup will only be used for a certain range of events/dates, you could adjust the start date to correspond to those dates but it is not necessary.

Type: Choose the type that is most representative of the option. This selection helps to organize the ticket screen in the order they are listed.

Fee: This sets the price of the ticket option.

Punch Pass: Leave this toggle off.

If you would like to offer punch passes at your school please contact Bound Support using the Green B chat in the system or support@gobound.com and our team will assist you with the set up.

Ticket Ratio: Leave this set at 1

Primary Color: The primary color only applies and changes the text on the activate/tap button on tickets accessed via the web or scanned with a phone/mobile device.

Secondary Color: The secondary fill color only applies and changes the activate/tap button on tickets accessed via the web or scanned with a phone/mobile device.

NOTE: Tickets accessed via the app or scanned with the Bound Gate and Register App on a reader will display tickets with the schools default color set in the Bound Platform.

Online Store Availability: Turn this on to have the option appear for sale online or in the app for an event. If the toggle is off tickets will still be available in the box office or in the Gate App on the reader, but will not be available online or in the fan app.

Open Color: This automatically set the same as primary color.

Activated Color: Is set to red in the system.

Activation Duration: This determines how long before the option on this ticket re-activates. For single day events, this should be set to Rest of Day.
