Creating Ticket Setups

This document will help guide users through the process of creating ticket setups that can then be attached to individual events.

Updated this week

NOTE: This article only pertains to setups for individual events. If you are interested in setting up season/year long passes please contact Bound.

Navigating to the setup area

Begin by clicking on the events icon and selecting “Ticketing”

Once in the Ticketing area, click on the tab that says “Setups”

On the top right corner of the Setups page, click the “Manage Ticketing” drop down button and select “Add Ticketing Setup”.

Setup Details Section

Name: On the Setup Details section, give the setup a meaningful name. This should be tied into what events the setup will be used for. For example if the ticket setup will be used for admission to all high school events, a good name might be HS Event Admission.

School Year: The School Year should automatically be set to the year you are working in in the Bound System.

Description: The Description section is optional, but allows you to put in more details about the event/s the setup will be tied to.

Disclaimer: The Disclaimer is also optional and can be used to add details like NO REFUNDS for purchasers to see before they complete checkout.

Gate Checkout Receipt Flow: Not applicable if checking out via Gate App Reader. Leave marked “Show All”.

Activation Color: Leave as is.

Activation Duration: Leave as is. Can be adjusted when adding ticket options.

Ticket Seating Chart: Leave blank. If doing a reserved seating event, contact Bound Support using the Green B chat in the system or support@gobound.com.

Ticket Supporter: Leave at "None". For further information on having sponsor advertisements appear contact Bound Support using the Green B chat in the system or support@gobound.com.

Passcode Protected: If toggled on event will require a passcode to purchase tickets. Passcodes are sent out via email from the event box office.

Enable QR Code: If this is toggled on, ticket holders will get a ticket with a QR code that must be scanned by a phone or using the Bound Gate App on a card reader to check tickets for admission for an event. If toggled off, ticket holders will get a ticket with the tap at gate option for gate admission.

Useable Across District Schools: Only used at the district level for districts with multiple schools in the Bound system.

Financial/Complimentary Details

Stripe Accounts: Make sure the button for “Bound Stripe Account (Connected)” is selected.

Upcharge Processing Fee: This determines how the fees are handled in the system for this individual ticket setup.

  • If it is off, purchasers will pay whatever price the ticket is set to on the ticket option, and the fees will be deducted from the school payout.

  • If the toggle is turned on, the fees will be added to the price of the ticket option. For instance, if the ticket option is $6.00, and the “Upcharge Processing Fee” option is toggled on, the buyer will pay $6.90, and the school will be paid out $6.00.

Allow Complimentary Tickets: If toggled on along with “Require Contact”, the ability to send tickets out for free to a fan/user in the box office checkout via email will be available.

Activity Pass Details:

Ignore this section as it only pertains to season/year activity passes.

Adding Options

The options section is where you add one or more ticket options for attendees to be able to purchase for events for this setup. For example you could have one admission ticket for all attendees, or you could have multiple options such as adult and student.

To add options click on the "Options" tab, then click the “Add Option” button in the top right of the screen.

Options Page

Status: Set to Active

Name: Give the option a specific name. If you are just doing 1 option, this could be as simple as naming the option "Admission Ticket". If you are doing multiple options, you might name the option something like "Adult Admission", then add another option with the name "Student Admission".

Category: Click the Single Day button

Type: Choose the type that is most representative of the option.

Start Date and End Date: These dates will default to the first and last days of the academic year and will determine when the tickets can be activated for gate entry. Tickets will expire and not be available for use after the date of an event, therefore it is not necessary to change the end date for a ticket. For ticket set ups that will be used for multiple events throughout the year it is important that you leave the defaulted start and end dates There usually isn’t a reason to change this for ticket setups and options that will be used for multiple events throughout the year. If the setup will only be used for a certain range of events/dates, you could adjust the start date to correspond to those dates but it is not necessary.

Fee: This sets the price of the ticket option.

Punch Pass: Leave this toggle off.

Ticket Ratio: Leave this at 1.

Primary Color: The color of the text on the activate/tap button on tickets accessed via the web or scanned with a phone/mobile device.

Secondary Color: The fill color of the activate/tap button on tickets accessed via the web or scanned with a phone/mobile device.

NOTE: Tickets accessed via the app or scanned with the Bound Gate and Register App on a reader will display tickets with the schools default color set in the Bound Platform.

Online Store Availability: Turn this on to have the option appear for sale online/in the app for an event. If the toggle is off tickets will still be available in the box office or in the Gate App on the reader if this is turned off.

Open Color: Same as primary color.

Activated Color: Is set to red in the system.

Activation Duration: This determines how long it is until the option re-activates. For single day events, this should be set to Rest of Day.
