Configure Official Tax Document e-Delivery
Before You Begin
These instructions apply to officials who receive payments through Bound. You can configure electronic delivery of your 1099 tax documents by following the steps below.
IMPORTANT:
If you do not agree to e-delivery of your 1099 tax documents, a paper copy will be mailed to you about 10 days after tax information has been processed. Your 1099 will NOT be available to download from the Bound platform unless you agree to e-delivery.
Agreeing to e-delivery means your 1099 will be delivered electronically through Bound only and will not be mailed to you.
To ensure your 1099 is delivered electronically, it is recommended that you complete e-delivery setup before early January, and preferably before mid-January, when Stripe begins processing tax documents. If you agree to e-delivery after Stripe begins processing forms, your 1099 may still be mailed instead of provided electronically.
Stripe is Bound’s secure payments and tax provider. As part of the setup process, you will be asked to verify your identity using the phone number associated with your Stripe profile. If you no longer have access to that phone number, contact Bound Support for assistance.
1. Login to your Bound Account: https://manager.gobound.com
2. From your Official Dashboard, click on the Pay button
3. Next, click on the Account tab
4. On the Account tab you will be asked to sign in to Stripe. This will authenticate with our payment and tax provider, Stripe, Inc.
a) Click Sign in to see details
b) A pop-up will appear where you will authenticate with Stripe via mobile verification
c) Stripe is Bound’s secure payments and tax provider. You may be redirected to
Stripe to verify your identity, which is required before tax forms can be delivered.
d) Follow the steps to verify your identity using Stripe’s mobile verification. (Note: If
your phone number has changed or you cannot complete Stripe mobile
verification, contact Bound support (support@gobound.com) for assistance.)
e) After you’ve completed verification the Account Management data will load.
f) Find the 1099 tax form details in the middle of the form and click the Agree to
e-delivery button
g) After reviewing the disclosure information, scroll down and click Agree
h) When you have successfully agreed to 1099 Tax Form e-delivery you will see a
message indicating that your 1099 form will be available by January 31.
i) You can now log out of Bound or continue viewing other information.
Access Tax Documents
Your 1099 tax documents will be available to download in your Bound account by January 31, as long as you have agreed to electronic delivery (e-delivery) before Stripe begins processing tax documents in mid-January.
IMPORTANT:
If you do not agree to e-delivery, your 1099 will NOT be available for download on the Bound platform. Instead, a paper copy will be mailed to you approximately 10 days after Stripe finishes processing your tax information.
To access your tax documents:
1. Login to your Bound Account: https://manager.gobound.com
2. From your Official Dashboard, click on the Pay button
3. Next, click on the Tax Documents tab.
4. On the Tax Documents tab, your documents will load and you will be able to download a copy of your 1099 Tax documents.
