Bound integrates with Clever to automatically sync your student rosters. The systems sync nightly to keep your student records up to date, and you can force a manual sync at any time.
This article covers setup, what syncs, and troubleshooting. If you're not sure whether your school uses Clever, ask your district IT administrator.

Setting Up Clever Syncing
Your Bound representative will send your district's contact an invitation to connect through Clever.
Share the following information with your Bound Director or Onboarding Specialist.
Your Clever district or school name.
The name and email address of the individual at your district or school who should receive the invite to connect to Bound's application in Clever.
Accept the email invitation. Your Bound representative will send recommended settings alongside the invite, with instructions to complete setup.
You can do this in Clever by going to Applications > Bound > Sharing Settings
If your school already has students manually entered in Bound and you're connecting to Clever for the first time, your Bound representative will run a matching process before the first sync. This matches your existing student records to their corresponding Clever IDs so that no duplicate records are created.
Sync Manually
Go to the Students tab.
In the top right corner, click Manage Students.
From the dropdown, click Sync Students.
The sync will take at least 3 minutes to complete. The fields managed by your SIS (Student Information System) can only be edited directly in your SIS.
What Data Syncs to Bound
Fields can only be edited in your SIS. If you make changes in Bound, those fields will be overwritten on the next sync.

Excluding Guardian / Contact Information
If you do not want guardian/contact info synced to Bound, disable it in your Clever dashboard.
Go to Clever.com and log in to your district dashboard.
Go to Applications > Bound > Settings.
Under Advanced Settings, click Customize Fields Shared With Bound.
Click Edit Contact Fields > Turn Off Contract Sharing.
Save your changes. Contact data will not be included next sync.
Note: If you disable contact sharing while you have active records in Bound, they will be set to inactive after the next sync. If you have questions, contact your Bound Representative.
Sync Indicators
When Bound is connected to your SIS, you will see several indicators:
Student Synced Indicators: Indicates that this student record is synced between Bound and your SIS. (Note: Fields that your school chooses to sync between Bound and your SIS can ONLY be edited in your SIS.)

If the sync isn't running, students are missing, or you're seeing unexpected records, contact your Bound representative or reach out to Bound Support. Please include:
