A ticket setup defines how tickets are sold for one or more events: the technology used (QR code or tap-at-gate), the payee that receives the funds, the available ticket options and their prices, and a handful of additional settings. Once a setup is saved, it can be attached to events that use the same ticketing structure.
Creating a Ticketing Setup
Go to the Events dashboard.
In Events, click Ticketing.
In Ticketing, click Setups.
In the top right, click Manage Ticketing. From the dropdown, select Add Ticketing Setup.
Details
Choose the Setup Type as Single-Use Ticket.
Required Fields:
Setup Name: Something descriptive, e.g. Varsity Football Admission
School Year: The school year the event falls into (usually the current school year)
Optional Fields:
Description: Optional spot to add information about the event or your ticketing setup. This will show up on the checkout screen when purchasing tickets on our app/website.
Disclaimer: Enter information that will appear on the checkout screen. The information will appear in a yellow box; use this for warnings and specific policy callouts.
Click Continue.
Configure
Choose the Ticket Technology:
QR Code Tickets: A QR Code is generated, to be scanned at entry. Your school will need at least one device at the gate to scan tickets. This can be a Bound Card Reader or any device with a camera or QR scanner.
Choose QR Code if you want the most flexibility in how fans present tickets.
Tap At Gate: Alternative to QR code scanning. Instead of staff scanning a code, the attendee taps a button on their ticket screen to check themselves in. Tickets are single-use and can't be tapped again after redemption. Tap at Gate tickets only work on an electronic device. They cannot be printed, added to Apple or Google Wallet, or shown as a screenshot.
Choose Tap at Gate if you want the fastest check-in with the least equipment. Fans handle check-in themselves on their own phones, so your gate workers don't need scanners or devices.
Select the Stripe Account and Payee/Distribution Plan for this setup. Ticket purchase payments will dispense to this account.
Select the Payee who receives the ticket revenue at payout. If your school splits revenue across programs, choose the appropriate distribution plan.
Choose whether to upcharge the processing fee.
Example: $5 ticket, $0.45 fee:
ON: Buyer covers a $0.90 processing fee. ($5 ticket → buyer pays $5.90; school receives $5.)
OFF: School covers a $0.90 processing fee. ($5 ticket → buyer pays $5; school receives $4.10)
Additional Settings
Optionally, adjust the Additional Settings. These settings should be left at their defaults in most cases.
Gate Checkout Receipt: Automatically toggled on; Displays the purchaser's email and phone number to the Gate Operator upon checkout.
Usable Across Districts: If your district shares events across schools
Allow Complimentary Tickets: Adds a free ticket option to checkout. When enabled, contact information is automatically displayed to the gate operator.
Click Continue.
Ticket Options
Choose the Ticket Options. This area allows you to set the different ticket options and prices and settings for each option. This section displays a live preview of how your ticket will appear to users:
Option Name: What the ticket purchaser sees under Available Tickets. E.g. Adult Admission, Football Admission or whatever makes sense for your events related to this setup.
Type: Adult, Child, Student, Senior, etc.
Usage Type: Single or Multi use. Most setups will be single-use.
Restrict Usage Date (Optional): Sets a start and end window when the ticket is usable. Useful for making a ticket valid for only a specific date or timespan.
Fee: Sets the ticket price.
Available Online: Indicates that the ticket option is available to purchase on Bound (web or app). Toggle this off for gate-only, in person tickets.
Click Add Option.
Click Add Ticket Option to add additional ticket options. For example, you've set up adult admissions, and need to add a student admission ticket option. Set up the additional option(s) using the same steps above.
Click Continue.
Review the ticket settings before saving. Once you have confirmed all the details are accurate, click Create Setup.
Once a ticketing setup is used for an event, it cannot be deleted.
