NOTE: It is strongly advised to test your readers and a transaction several days before your first event to ensure they work correctly.
After unpacking the device, turn the device on by pressing the power button located on the right side of the machine.
You should see the stripe loading screen as shown below:
NOTE: The machine may apply updates at certain times during this process. When that happens proceed with the instructions after the machine downloads and applies the necessary updates.
3. When the language screen appears, choose English. Then on the "Choose Country" screen appears, choose United States.
4. On the "Select Wifi Network" screen, make sure to select the Wifi network that both the reader and your checkout device will be connected to. NOTE: To emphasize again, you need to have the S700 Device AND your checkout device (iPad or Laptop/Chromebook) on the same network in order to run transactions.
5. At this point you should get a screen saying "Register this reader" and will be provided a 3 word code.
6. To enter the code you will need to log into your school Bound Account and click on the "Business" area.
7. Next click on "Stripe"
8. For most schools, on this page you will click on the edit (pencil) icon next to the "Bound Stripe Account (Connected)" account located on this page. NOTE: If for some reason you do not see a stripe account on this page, please contact our support using the Green B on the bottom right of the Bound Page you are on.
9. Click on the "Readers" tab.
10. On the top right corner of the screen, click on the "Manage Terminal" button and select "Add Reader".
11. On this page, you can name the reader. We recommend something to help identify the reader such as your school name and a number if you have multiple readers (Ex. Schoolname 1 etc.) You can also use masking tape or a label maker and put the number on the back of the actual reader to help you identify it for later use. After naming the reader, enter the 3 word registration code that was provided on your reader (step 5). Then hit save.
12. This will add the reader to your Stripe account and make it useable for credit card transactions. You can find your list of readers under the edit button of your stripe account under the readers tab.
Note: You can get to the settings area by swiping on the screen from left to right. Then enter the admin code 07139. This area allows you go do things like change the WiFi network you are connected to, or generate a new pairing code to attach your device to a different stripe account.
