Stocks: How to Browse, Buy, and Sell Stocks
You can use BOVAREFILL to explore available stocks, track their prices, build a watchlist, and buy or sell stocks directly from the platform.
1. How to Access Stocks
To get started:
1. Log in to your BOVAREFILL account.
2. Go to Products.
3. Select Stocks.
Once you open Stocks, you’ll see your portfolio, watchlist, and the different investment options available.
2. Understanding Your Portfolio
At the top of the Stocks page, you’ll see a summary of your portfolio, including your balance, positions, and today’s percentage change.
Here’s what these mean:
• Balance: The amount shown in your investment account or portfolio, depending on how the platform displays it.
• Positions: The stocks you currently hold.
• Today’s percentage change: This shows how much the value of your portfolio has increased or decreased today, expressed as a percentage. For example, +1.42% means the value has increased by 1.42% over the period being measured, while -2.42% means it has decreased by 2.42%.
You may also see a dollar amount beside the percentage. This shows the corresponding change in value. For example, +0.00% (+$0.00) today means there has been no change in the displayed value for the period.
You can select View Portfolio to see more details about your investments.
Your portfolio page includes:
• Total Value: The current value of your stock holdings.
• Total Invested: The amount you have invested in your holdings.
• Total P&L: Your total profit or loss on your investments.
• Positions: The individual stocks you currently own.
• Holdings: Details of the stocks in your portfolio.
Your profit or loss can change as stock prices rise and fall.
3. Understanding the Watchlist
The watchlist helps you keep track of stocks you’re interested in without having to search for them every time.
lio page includes:For example, if you want to monitor Apple or American Airlines Group before deciding whether to buy, you can add them to your watchlist.
To use your watchlist:
1. Find the stock you want to monitor.
2. Select the option to add it to your watchlist.
3. Open your watchlist whenever you want to check the stocks you’ve saved.
4. Remove stocks from your watchlist when you no longer want to track them.
Adding a stock to your watchlist does not mean you’ve purchased it. It simply makes it easier to monitor its price.
4. Exploring Available Stocks
Under the Stocks section, you can explore different investment categories, including:
• All: Browse the available investment options.
• Stocks: View individual company stocks.
• Off Hours: Explore the options displayed in this category when the market is outside its regular trading hours.
• ETFs: Browse exchange-traded funds, which allow you to invest in a collection of assets through a single investment.
• Metals: Explore the available metals investment products.
You can also use the search bar to find a particular stock or ETF.
Each listing displays the stock’s name, current price, and percentage change.
What Do the Percentages Mean?
The percentages beside stock prices show how much the stock’s price has increased or decreased over the displayed period, usually the current trading day.
For example:
• American Airlines Group — $12.31, -2.42%: The stock’s price has decreased by 2.42% over the displayed period.
• Apple — +1.42%: The stock’s price has increased by 1.42% over the displayed period.
A red negative percentage generally indicates a price decrease, while a positive percentage indicates a price increase.
These changes happen as stock prices move in the market. A positive percentage does not guarantee that the price will continue rising, and a negative percentage does not necessarily mean it will keep falling.
5. Viewing Stock Details
When you select a particular stock, you’ll see a page with more information about that company and its stock.
This may include:
• Current Price: The stock’s displayed price.
• Market Status: Whether the market is open or closed.
• Today’s Change: The dollar amount and percentage by which the price has changed today.
• Price Chart: A graph showing how the stock price has moved over time.
• Time Periods: Options such as 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, and 1 year, allowing you to view price movements over different periods.
• Volume: The number of shares traded during a specified period.
• P/E Ratio: A measure comparing a company’s share price with its earnings per share.
• Day Range: The highest and lowest prices recorded during the displayed trading day.
• Key Statistics: Additional company information, which may include market capitalization, EBITDA, and debt-to-equity ratio.
• Company Information: Background information about the company and its business.
