A great way to raise funds for your organization is through donations. BoxCast enables you to configure your video player for viewers to donate.
Your organization is responsible for complying with any substantiation and documentation requirements for the donations you receive.
Enable Donations for Your BoxCast Account
From the Settings page in your BoxCast dashboard, navigate to Preferences and then click Edit in the Ticketing and Donations section.
Toggle on Show Donations Button Below Video. Select BoxCast as the Donations Processer if you wish BoxCast to manage fund disbursement. BoxCast collects a flat 6% fee on all donations to cover credit card processing charges.
Optional: Enter a New Donation Notification Email to receive a notification any time a new donation is made. You may also type in a Custom Donations Message to Viewers.
If you don't want your donations subject to BoxCast's processing fee, you can select External Site. It will allow you to link the donations button to an account of your choosing, like PayPal or Tithe.ly. Simply enter the account's link in the Custom Donation URL field.
Adding the Donations Button to an Embedded Player
When enabling donations for a player to be embedded on your webpage, navigate to the Embed page of your BoxCast dashboard and click to expand the Customization section, followed by clicking Donations. You're ready to copy the embed code and paste into your webpage!
Making a Donation
Viewers may click the Donate button to donate to your organization.
After selecting an amount to donate and filling out all other required information, donors will click the Process Donation button. Donors will receive email confirmation and a thank you message.
Common Questions
When will I receive donation funds?
Donations are delivered on a quarterly basis so long as the total funds exceed $100. Donations totaling under $100 will roll over into the next quarter and continue doing so until exceeding $100. If donations total less than $100 by end of the quarter and you wish to collect right away rather than rolling over, simply email payments@boxcast.com. We'd be happy to process and disburse the funds.
How do I receive donation funds?
While BoxCast can make payments by check (we'd need a copy of your W-9), donations may also be paid out via electronic payments which process quicker and are more secure than traditional checks. Email W-9 forms to payments@boxcast.com or to request an invite for creating your subscription-free receivables account through bill.com. Signing up for bill.com is completely voluntary, so you may elect to receive payments by check if you wish. Funds are still paid out on a quarterly basis.
How do I know when a donation has been made?
You will receive email notifications if you entered a New Donation Notification Email while enabling Donations. The BoxCast Dashboard also provides a Donations Report where you may view donations from all time, the current quarter, or the previous quarter.
