You can protect your content so that it can only be watched by viewers who have been given the password for the broadcast or channel. You can distribute this password to your intended audience in a few different ways.

Note: When using this feature on a smart tv app (Apple TV, Roku), it will block the viewer from the content, but does not allow a way for them to enter a password. Instead, they will see a message telling them that this broadcast is password-protected, so it cannot be viewed within this app.

Configuring a Password For All Broadcasts on Your Account:

Click on the Settings page, the Preferences tab, and click on Edit for Privacy and Security.

Check the Enable Password Protection option.

Type in the password you would like and click Save Changes.

Configuring a Password for a Channel:

Click on the Channels, and then select the individual channel you would like to configure the password for, or create a new channel.

Click on the Edit Channel button.

Go to the Privacy tab, and check the Enable Password Protection option.

Type in the password you would like and click Save Changes at the bottom of the window.

Configuring a Password For an Upcoming Broadcast:

While scheduling your broadcast, scroll down to the Advanced section, and click on Privacy + Security. Click on the Enable Password Protection option and enter the password you would like to have for that broadcast.

Finish scheduling, and save the broadcast.

Configuring a Password For a Past Broadcast:

Find the broadcast you would like to protect, and click on the Edit Broadcast button.

Navigate to the Advanced tab.

Check the Enable Password Protection option.

Type in the password you would like and click Save Changes.

Please note that BoxCast's password protection is only applicable on BoxCast players, like your boxcast.tv links and embedded players- the feature does not carry over to simulcast destinations like YouTube, Facebook, etc.
