BoxCast Says "Error code: html5_video:4"

If you see an error message about an "html5_video:4," use this article to resolve the issue.

If you encounter an "Error code: html5_video:4" on your embedded player, it is most likely related to your pre-roll video. Below are some ways to fix this.

  1. Check that the pre-roll video that you have been using is still in the dashboard. To do this, go to media uploads and click on the pre-event video section. This will show a list of the pre-roll videos in your account. If there was one on your dashboard that was deleted but still linked to an embed code, it will cause the error.

2. Check the settings of the dashboard to see if the default pre-roll video was changed. To do this, go to settings, click on preferences, scroll down to player defaults and click on edit. If you change this video here to something different, it could cause the video player to create that error and you will need to re-embed.
