When you become a new BoxCast user, we require you to have a strong password and verify your email address. This is to prevent data breaches and security issues with someone accessing your account. Here’s everything you need to know about our password and email requirements.

BoxCast Password Requirements

Choose a strong password when you set up your BoxCast account. For your security, your password must meet the following criteria:

  • At least 8 characters

  • Doesn't include your name or the word "BoxCast"

  • Doesn't repeat 4 or more characters (e.g., “aaaa” is not okay)

  • Doesn't include sequences of 4 or more (e.g., “1234” is not okay)

  • Isn't in a database of compromised or common passwords (e.g., "password123" is not OK)

If your password doesn’t meet one or more of these requirements, you’ll see it highlighted in red so you know what to change to fit the criteria.

Email Verification Requirements

As a new BoxCast user, you’ll also need to confirm your account before you can log in.

Once you confirm your account, you’ll be asked to set up a password:

If you don’t confirm your account, you’ll be prompted with the following message:

Please try sending yourself a new verification email to confirm your email address with our system. Once your password is set, you’ll be redirected to the Dashboard to start streaming!
