Why is my Bundle not working?

Updated over 5 months ago

To comply with Shopify’s requirements for building bundles, the new version of the Bundle Builder now uses Shopify’s Bundle API.

Bundling products has long been hailed as a savvy strategy to boost sales and enhance customer satisfaction. However, in the dynamic landscape of e-commerce, not all stores may find bundles to be a perfect fit.

Let's delve into some scenarios where bundles might not work with your store:

  1. Draft Orders and B2B Transactions:
If your store frequently deals with draft orders, either created on behalf of customers or submitted by B2B clients, bundling might pose challenges. Draft orders often involve customizations, negotiations, or bulk purchases tailored to individual client needs. Bundling, which typically offers predefined combinations at set prices, may not easily accommodate these nuances.
Here’s how you can check in the Shopify admin if the order was made from a draft:

  2. Shopify POS for Brick-and-Mortar Sales:
Retail environments such as physical stores, pop-ups, and other in-person locations rely on Shopify's Point of Sale (POS) system for smooth transactions. While bundles excel in online settings where customers can conveniently explore and select bundled products, their integration with Shopify POS may be less seamless.
Here’s how to identify which channel the order was made:

  3. Complex Purchase Options:
Bundles thrive on simplicity, offering customers curated combinations of products at attractive prices. However, certain purchase options, such as subscriptions, pre-orders, or try-before-you-buy (TBYB) programs, introduce layers of complexity that bundles may struggle to accommodate. Subscriptions entail recurring payments and automated deliveries, which may clash with the one-time purchase model of bundles. Therefore, subscriptions as well as other similar purchase options will not work with BundleBuilder.
