Lifecycle Journeys for Your App

These are the default automation journeys that we set up once you start using CleverTap

First Time App User

Journey: Install to Sign-up

Description: User has downloaded the app but hasn’t created an account.

Requirements:

  • Create 3 push notifications for users who downloaded the app but haven’t signed up yet.

  • Focus on reducing early drop-off and highlighting 1–2 clear benefits of signing up.

Journey: Sign-up to Trial

Description: User has signed up but hasn’t started a free trial.

Requirements:

  • Create 3 push notifications encouraging users to start their free trial by showcasing key trial-only features.

  • Create 3 emails that build curiosity, reduce hesitation, and explain what users can experience in the trial.

Journey: Trial to Subscriber

Description: User has started a free trial but hasn’t subscribed yet.

Requirements:

  • Create 3 push notifications reminding trial users about premium features they haven’t tried yet.

  • Create 3 emails that highlight subscription benefits, use testimonials, and show why upgrading is valuable.

User Engagement

Journey: Welcome Email

Description: Sent after a user reaches the home screen (with a short delay).

Requirements:

  • Create 1 welcome email introducing the brand, setting expectations, and highlighting 3 key features to explore first.

Journey: 7 Days App Use

Description: Sent after 7 consecutive days of app use.

Requirements:

  • Create 1 congratulatory email celebrating the user’s 7-day streak and motivating them to continue toward the next milestone.

Journey: 21 Day Streak

Description: Sent when a user reaches a 21-day streak.

Requirements:

  • Create 1 push notification celebrating the 21-day streak to keep users motivated.

  • Create 1 email reinforcing the idea of habit formation and encouraging long-term consistency.

Journey: 100 Day Streak

Description: Sent when a user reaches a 100-day streak.

Requirements:

  • Create 1 push notification celebrating the 100-day milestone to make users feel recognised.

  • Create 1 email highlighting their achievement, exclusivity, and loyalty to the brand.

Re-engagement

Journey: 14 / 21 / 30 Day Inactivity

Description: Triggered when a user hasn’t opened the app in 14, 21, or 30 days.

Requirements:

  • Create 3 push notifications (for 14, 21, and 30 days of inactivity) designed to spark curiosity and remind users to reopen the app.

  • Create 3 re-engagement emails (for 14, 21, and 30 days of inactivity) to highlight new content, app benefits, or offer light incentives.

Personalisation

Journey: Onboarding Questions

Description: Triggered based on a user’s onboarding responses (for example, “Why did you download the app?”).

Requirements:

  • Create personalised emails for users who answer specific goals (for example, “Cure my insomnia”) that showcase related content in the app.

  • Create 3 subject line variations for personalized onboarding emails based on user pain points such as sleep, stress, or focus.

Journey: Course Completions

Description: Triggered when a user completes a course.

Requirements:

  • Create 1 push notification congratulating users who complete a course to reinforce motivation.

  • Create 1 follow-up email recommending 3 related courses to encourage continued engagement.

Reduce User Churn

Journey: Billing Issue

Description: Triggered when a payment fails or a billing issue occurs.

Requirements:

  • Create 3 push notifications reminding users about a failed payment in a polite and helpful tone.

  • Create 3 follow-up emails that explain the issue, guide users to retry payment, and offer support if needed.

Journey: Cancellation Campaign

Description: Triggered when a user cancels their subscription or does not renew.

Requirements:

  • Create 2 push notifications aimed at winning back canceled users with discounts or new content.

  • Create 2 emails thanking users, gathering feedback, and offering a soft re-subscription incentive.

Note -

  • Push = Push Notifications

  • Character limit for the Push notifications (50 to 240 characters)

  • While sending Emails, please send the Email Body, Email Subject and atleast one image
