Step 1: Make your CSV file

Open Excel or Google Sheets.

Create a CSV file with two columns: identity,MSG-email (all lowercase).

Add each user’s unique identity in the first column, and write false in the second column to mark them as unsubscribed.

Example:

Download the CSV

Step 2: Go to CleverTap

Log in to CleverTap. From the left menu, go to Settings → Engage → CSV Uploads.

Click + Upload, then choose Upload user profiles.

Select your CSV file and click Save & Upload.

Step 3: Upload your CSV

After uploading, click Map next to your file.

Map identity → identity (this links to the user’s unique ID).

Map MSG-email → User Property and select True or False as the data type.

If MSG-email isn’t listed, choose “Same as column name” to create it.

Then click Process File to start the upload.

Step 4: Check your upload

Once processing is complete, go to Segments → Find People.

Search for one of the users from your CSV by their identity.

Open their profile and scroll to User Properties.

You should now see MSG-email = false listed, this means the user has been unsubscribed.
