User Experience Controls: Achievements and Streaks

Overview

Breakthrough gives users control over how their app experience feels.

With User Experience Controls, users can turn off Achievements and Streaks to create a more serene, non-gamified experience—while retaining the ability to turn them back on at any time.

This feature was introduced in response to user feedback requesting a calmer, less performance-driven way to engage with wellness content.

What this enables

Users can choose the experience that best supports their practice:

  • A gamified experience with achievements and streaks enabled

  • A serene experience focused purely on content and consistency, without rewards or progress pressure

This flexibility supports a broader range of user needs and wellness approaches.

What users can do

From Settings, users can:

  • Toggle Achievements on or off

  • Toggle Streaks on or off

  • Re-enable achievements and streaks at any time

When achievements and streaks are turned off:

  • No new achievements are awarded

  • No streak tracking is shown

  • The app experience becomes quieter and less directive

Where to find this setting

Users can manage these controls in the app under:

Settings → Features

Partner action

No action required.

This is a user-controlled preference that works automatically. Partners do not need to configure or enable anything in the portal.

When to mention this feature

You may want to highlight this option to users who:

  • Prefer a mindfulness-first or non-gamified experience

  • Feel pressure from streaks or achievement tracking

  • Are returning after a break and want a gentler re-entry

Why this matters

Wellness is not one-size-fits-all.

Giving users control over achievements and streaks allows the app to support both motivation and ease, depending on what the user needs at any given time.
