When starting out, one of the first questions we get is: "How much content do I need to launch my app?". We've created a guide for just this, see below for our recommendations to get started.
β
So, how much do you need?
βAt launch, we recommend having at least one month of content uploaded.
This is enough to make the app look full, but not overwhelm you by content creation or the users!
β
Content recommendations for Launch:
Number of Categories: 5
Number of Classes per category: 6
Total number of Classes or Routines: 20-30
Note: Classes and routines can be reused in multiple categories, courses, and challenges.
Number of exercises per routine: 3+
Total Number free classes or routines: 4-6 (the goal is to get them to have a taste of the app and make them want to subscribe)
Courses or Challenges: at least 1!
Intro videos - seeing your face and speaking directly to your users can make your app come alive, and feel more personal and engaging!
1 for each course or challenge.
You can put an intro video within each category, if you'd like (this is optional, but can be helpful for users!)
Course Recommendations for Launch:
Start with a "Start Here" or "Get Started" 5-14 day course or challenge
A 7 day free challenge
Number of Recipes (if applicable): 20
Daily Quotes/ Inspiration: 60-90
Content Best Practices:
How long should my classes be?
The most played classes across all apps are 10-20 minutes
For the optimal user experience, building a habit, and retention we recommend that you keep most videos under 30min.
You cannot have longer videos, too. Just make sure you have short options to make it more accessible)
We do not recommend having videos over 60 minutes on the app.
How often should I add new content?
We recommend adding new content weekly or biweekly, and monthly to keep users engaged and excited about new content in the app.
A recommended cadence is adding one class or routine per week, or 2 every other week, with one challenge per month
