📝 Adjust (CODENAME) to the code you set up for your user/s
Register for an account in the mobile app
Open the app settings
Tap the "Community" setting
Tap "Join Community", enter code (CODENAME)
Setting up a Community Code
Community codes are used to unlock specific or all in-app content for a designated period of time, determined by you. These are meant to be used by family, friends, your app-team, or others that may need free access. If you'd like to offer a user free time prior to starting a paid subscription, we'd recommend using a coupon code on your web paywall instead. Learn more here.

To start, expand "Configuration" in the Portal on the lefthand side, select "Community Codes", then "+ Add Promo Code" at the upper right.
Next, you'll decide the details of your code. Here's a breakdown of each section:
👉 Select the type of promo code determines the length of time the promo code will be active for the user once redeemed. For example, you could select weekly, monthly, lifetime, or "Unlock till date" to select the exact date the user will have access until.
👉 Enter code that people will use to unlock the app is where you'll name your code (this is what you'll provide to the user). Examples: APPTEAM, FRIENDSANDFAM, whatever you'd like!
👉 Select when the promo code should expire refers to when the code can no longer be redeemed in-app. For example, if someone enters a yearly code one day before this expiration date, they'll still get the full year redeemed.
👉 Select the total number of seats for this code refers to how many people you'd like to be able to redeem the code. For example, if you're giving the code out to 5 users, you'd add 5 seats.
👉 Select Medias to unlock allows you to unlock only specific content with a code, versus providing full access. For example, you could select one course, and if someone redeems that code they'd have free access to that single course only.
🔴 Note: Select Medias to unlock only works with the "Unlock till date" type of promo code. If you'd like to provide long term access with one of these codes, just set the expiration far out.
To edit or delete a code, click the edit or delete buttons to the right of the code.
Note that we do NOT recommend deleting codes that may have active users attached. This could cause issues for the user. If you need to revoke access from someone who redeemed a code or have any questions, email us at partner@breakthroughapps.io and we can help.
