Welcome to BRICKS. This tutorial covers the first step of basic interface operations: creating a workspace. By completing the four sections in this chapter, you will easily learn the basic operations of the BRICKS cloud smart display interface.

🕐 The estimated time to complete this tutorial is 2 to 3 minutes.

  • Step 1: Log in to BRICKS Controller and create a new workspace.

When you log in to the https://display.bricks.tools/controller page, the first page you see displays the workspaces currently available in your account. You can think of a workspace as an independent project folder, allowing you to separate different projects using different workspaces. To add a new workspace, simply click the [New Workspace] button at the bottom left.

  • Step 2: Name the Workspace

You can define the naming convention for the workspace in the Name field for easy identification. You can also fill in the detailed description of the workspace in the Description field to facilitate future searches. After entering the name and description, click [Save] to proceed to the next step.

  • Step 3: Introduce Workspace Setting Properties』

When creating a new workspace, you will notice that the properties panel on the right differs from the default workspace panel. Detailed setup instructions are explained in the tutorial articles that follow.

Please first switch to the Default workspace, select [Into the Workspace], and switch to the DEVICE tab. In the list on the left, choose the display device you want to transfer. In the Operation column of the properties on the right, you will find the [Move to ...] button. Clicking it allows you to transfer this device to a specified workspace. The same action can also be applied to APPLICATION, MODULE, BANK, MEDIA, and other content. These tabs will be explained in detail in the upcoming workspace tutorials.

  • Step 4: Select the target workspace you want to copy to.

In the list, select the target workspace. After clicking to choose the workspace, press [Update] to confirm your selection.

*Since the device has already been bound to another application earlier, be sure to select [YES] in the "Force Unbind Application If Needed" option here to successfully transfer it.

  • Step 5: Check the transferred display device

Switch back to the newly added workspace, select the DEVICE tab, and check whether the display device has been correctly transferred.

  • Congratulations on learning the basic concept of workspace
