1.2.1 Explanation of Various Launcher Installation Scenarios

Detailed step-by-step instructions for different installation situations

When installing the Launcher on display devices, the following scenarios may occur:

  • * Android system requires version 6.0 or above to download and install the BRICKS Launcher.
  1. If the Android display device has the Google Play Store:

    • If the Google account on the display device is the same as the one logged in on the computer, you can directly click install on the computer and select the corresponding display device.

    • If the accounts are different, you can open the Google Play Store on the device and click install from there.

  2. If the Android display device does not have the Google Play Store but can install APK files:

    • Please use the APK link under the Get APP section in the DEVICE tab of the BRICKS Controller to download and install.

    • If the Android device’s CPU is Armeabi, download the APK for Armeabi. Refer to this link to check the CPU type.

  3. Android display devices are inconvenient for keyboard input.

    • Please first download the APK to a USB drive from your computer, then transfer and install it on the Android display device.

  4. If the Android display device cannot open the APK

    • please make sure the system is set to Developer Mode. For instructions on how to enter Developer Mode, please refer to this link.

    • If you still cannot install the APK after enabling Developer Mode, please verify that you have completed step 2 to check the CPU type. If it is an Armeabi CPU, you need to download the corresponding APK.
