Updating your statement descriptor ensures that customers recognize transactions from your store when they review their bank or credit card statements. A clear descriptor helps build trust and reduces payment disputes.

Steps to Update Your Statement Descriptor

Navigate to Business Hub & Access Settings

Log in to your BridgeAthletic account and navigate to Business Hub from the main menu. Locate and click on the Settings tab.

Update the Statement Descriptor

Scroll down to the Statement Descriptor field. Enter your desired descriptor, ensuring it meets Stripe's requirements (see below).

Statement Descriptor Requirements

A complete statement descriptor must meet the following criteria:

  • Contains only Latin characters

  • Contains between 5 and 22 characters, inclusive

  • Contains at least one letter (if using a prefix and a suffix, both require at least one letter)

  • Does not contain any of the following special characters: < > \ ' " *

  • Reflects your Doing Business As (DBA) name

  • Contains more than a single common term or generic website URL (a website URL alone is acceptable if it provides a clear and accurate description of the transaction on a customer's statement)

Bridge Tip: The descriptor must be updated to either your name or your business name. By default, this displays the website URL you entered when creating your Stripe Express account.

Important Notes

If you're unable to edit the Statement Descriptor field, it may be restricted by Stripe. Contact our support team at support@bridgeathletic.com and we'll update it for you.
