The Program and Phase Analysis tool gives you a detailed view of your program's structure, including the balance of volume, intensity, and load across each phase. Use this tool to fine-tune your programming and help your athletes perform at their best.

This article covers:

Locating the Program and Phase Analysis Chart

Program Analysis

  1. Navigate to the Program page.

  2. Click the graph icon to the right of the program name.

Phase Analysis

  1. Navigate to the Program page.

  2. Scroll down and select the desired Phase.

  3. Click the graph icon to the right of the phase name.

Selecting a Parameter

The chart offers three parameter options: 1RME, Difficulty, and Bodyweight (BW). The parameter you select determines how volume, intensity, and load are calculated in the chart.

Bridge Tip: Select the parameter you use to prescribe weight in your program. This ensures the data pulled into the chart accurately reflects your programming.

Key Terms:

  • Volume = The sum of all prescribed reps

  • Intensity = (Number of reps × Intensity% per rep) ÷ Total reps

  • Load = Number of reps × Intensity% per rep

Understanding the Chart

This analysis chart is separated into 3 horizontal sections:

Top Section - Intensity Breakdown

This section displays the Intensity Breakdown chart along with average Volume, Intensity, and Load for the program or phase.

Bridge Tip: The Other category represents sets not prescribed with the selected parameter. For example, if 1RME is selected, "Other" captures volume from sets prescribed using a different method. Click Other in the chart key to toggle it on or off.

Middle Section - Volume and Intensity Timeline

This section shows a week-by-week timeline of Total Volume and Average Intensity across the program or phase.

  • Vertical bars represent Total Volume for each week. The grey portion reflects volume for the selected parameter; the blue portion reflects volume from other parameters.

  • Purple dots represent the average intensity for each week.

Bottom section - Weekly Data Blocks

This section breaks down each week into three data points:

  • Total Volume — Total prescribed reps for that week

  • Average Intensity — Average intensity for that week

  • Total Load — Total load for that week

Understanding how each phase contributes to your athletes' progression is the foundation of effective programming. Use the Program and Phase Analysis tool to keep every set, workout, and phase intentional, and keep your athletes on track.
