How to Monitor Nutrition Results in Bridge

Written by Lauren Johnson

As a coach, monitoring your athletes' nutrition is crucial for maximizing performance and recovery. Bridge's Nutrition Report makes it easy to see what your athletes are eating and helps them stay on track.

Accessing Nutrition Data

You'll find nutrition tracking in two places:

  1. Quick View: On any athlete's profile page, the Nutrition Report module shows recent daily totals for calories, protein, carbs, fat, and hydration.

  2. Full Report: Open the report for detailed data, trends, and filtering options.

What You'll See

  • Summary Averages at the top show average daily intake across all macros and hydration. Percentage indicators compare the current period to the previous one, so you can quickly spot improvements or declines. Apply filters and adjust the date range to narrow or broaden the data set for a detailed analysis.

  • Daily Log Table breaks down each day's nutrition, showing actual versus target values (like 1929/2105 for calories). This makes it instantly clear if an athlete is hitting their numbers or falling short. You can also see which program they're on, the day type (Rest Day, Cardio Day, etc.), and how many meals they logged.

  • Meal Breakdown: Click the arrow next to Meals for any day to view targets for individual meals. This helps you evaluate meal composition and how closely athletes are following their meal plan.

  • Trend Charts visualize intake over time with line graphs for each target. Toggle between daily, weekly, and monthly views to spot patterns or gradual changes. Use the filters and date ranges to narrow or broaden the data set for a detailed analysis.

Filter Your Data

The report loads the last 30 days by default. Use the date range selectors to view anywhere from three days to several months. The filter dropdown lets you narrow by nutrition program or day type, perfect for comparing rest day eating versus training day fueling. The data in the table and charts will reflect the selected filters.

Messaging Athletes from the Report

Leave messages directly on specific days in the report to communicate with your athletes:

  • Missing tracking: "Please track your food today."

  • Missed targets: "You're 30g short on protein, try adding a shake."

  • Celebrate wins: "Great job hitting your numbers this week!"

Athletes can reply to these messages through their in-app chat, and the thread will show in the report. This makes it easy to streamline communication.

The bottom line: the more consistently your athletes log their meals, the better insights you'll have to guide their nutrition and performance.
