Setup ManageBac integration

BridgeU integrates directly with ManageBac, allowing you to import advisors and students from your ManageBac account into BridgeU with just a few clicks. To enable this, you'll first need to generate an API key in ManageBac and add it to your BridgeU Advisor account.

Before you begin: Depending on your permission level in ManageBac, you may not be able to generate the API key yourself. If that's the case, please reach out to your ManageBac administrator to complete Steps 1 and 2 on your behalf.

Please follow below steps to setup your managebac integration:

Step 1: Logged in to ManageBac as an administrator, navigate to Settings > Integrations > Partners > BridgeU.

Step 2: Tick Enabled (circled in red at the below screenshot) to generate the API key and then click Save Changes.

Step 3: To add the API to BridgeU, login to BridgeU Advisor account and navigate to School Settings from the top-right menu, then click ManageBac and Paste the API key you copied from ManageBac into the textbox provided. Click Save to activate the connection.

Step 4: Your ManageBac integration is now live. From the same ManageBac settings page in BridgeU, you can begin importing users straight away by clicking:

  • Import Advisors — to bring your advisors/counselors into BridgeU.

  • Import Students — to bring your student records into BridgeU.

Troubleshooting the ManageBac integration

  1. ManageBac option not visible in BridgeU settings
    The ManageBac integration must be enabled at the school level by BridgeU and may not be available by default for all accounts. If your school uses ManageBac but you cannot see this option in School Settings, please contact BridgeU Support via Live Chat or email hi@bridge-u.com with your school name to request activation.

  2. API key not working after saving
    You may need to regenerate the API key in ManageBac by going to ManageBac administrator Settings > Integrations > Partners > BridgeU, and then paste the new key into your BridgeU School Settings. Previously generated keys can expire or become invalid, especially if the integration has been turned off and on again.
